Richmond V Western Bulldogs Rd 8 2004 Saturday 15/05/2004 MCG
Wow! Both I and the Crystal Ball are wiped out after Sunday. Not in our wildest dreams could we have predicted a stirring win like that against a class outfit like Sydney at the SCG. Nor could we have ever foreseen the 7 goals that Richo kicked on his return.
Now to the game at hand. Despite their modest record of only 2 wins the Bulldogs are no easybeats. They're a much better side than their results would have you believe. The only real hiding they've received was against Port Adelaide in Adelaide and it was largely due to their poor kicking for goal, rather than not being competitive. They'll fight and scrap the entire way and I don't need the Crystal Ball to know that the Tigers are in for a tough day at the office.
Richmond will go in favourites to this match and rightly so, however the Crystal Ball and I do not share this confidence. One of the Tigers biggest problems in recent times has been consistency and they have had tendencies to follow a good performance up with a poor one. The yellow and black boys will be looking to Richardson to repeat his heroics of last week and like his side he has also been remarkably erratic throughout his career.
The Crystal Ball is making barking noises and I tend to agree with it. It'll be a ring a ding ding of a game with the Doggies just barking past the line against the Tigers.
