Richmond V Geelong Rd 19 2004 Sunday 08/08/2004 MCG
The last time they met I tipped the Tigers to get over the Pussies in a thriller. Oh how times change. When I made that tip Richmond had a win on the board and despite a hiccough with losses to Melbourne & St Kilda still looked the goods over the then winless Cats. Now Geelong have won 12, the last 4 in a row and are looking like a top 4 finish at the end of the season. The poor old Tigers are 15th, only have 4 wins on the board and supporters are hard put to remember when they last won.
You can probably guess that the Crystal Ball and I are tipping a win to Geelong. Despite being confident and flying the Cats are almost injury free and the Tigers don't even have that luxury. Ottens will be out for the rest of the season, other players like Campbell and Gaspar are down on form and confidence, Nathan Brown and Jay Schulz may return, but both would have to be underdone. The fact that Geelong are playing on the MCG for the first time this season may even the ledger up a little, but not enough to turn the game. I hope the Tigers can make a game of it, but that is about the best any supporter can hope for.
