Richmond V Melbourne Rd 17 2004 Sunday 25/07/2004 MCG
The first time around I predicted a win to Richmond, it was actually the start of the slide down the ladder.
Melbourne are an intriguing side, they succeed ever other year. Only in even numbered years. They're laughing at the moment, but by this time next season they'll more than likely be fighting to avoid the wooden spoon. The Crystal Ball has given up, it's predicting a result of priority draft pick. I think the Tigers may have broken the poor thing.
The way it's looking I doubt Richmond can even assemble a competitive unit for this game. Injuries have hit hard. Stafford, Campbell, Schulz and wait for it, it can get worse Brown are all out. Last week it looked like a schoolboy team taking on an AFL unit, this week is even moreso. One good story is that Marc Dragicevic has been elevated from the rookie list after enduring 2 knee reconstructions and being delisted before being picked up as a rookie.
There's no point in hoping for a Richmond win, that won't happen. The only interest for Tiger supporters at this point is watching the young players and see how the develop and handle the situation. Maybe they can at least give us a decent game to watch. It hasn't been much fun the last couple of weeks, in fact it's been downright painful.
