STILL LOVIN' THE SUPER BOWL SEAHAWKS!!!
Controversial officiating? Click here!
WE DID IT!!!!! We made it to the SUPER BOWL!!! OK, yeah, we didn't win. It was kind of hard to compete against an officiating crew as tough as Leavy's. But never mind! Kudos to Pittsburgh, especially with their razzle dazzle touchdown play! It was reminiscent of the early Seahawks years!
I am SOOOOO proud of our Seahawks and #12!!!!! What a great season it's been!
30 years in the making and we got to the big game! I think back to when I came on-line in 1996 when Ken Behring was trying to sneak the Hawks off to California in the dark of the night. I think back to Referendum 48 and the grassroots Save Our Seahawks campaign that kept the Seahawks in Seattle. I think back to the joy of Paul Allen rescuing the team and restoring respect to the club.
It's with happy memories that I think back to the Chuck Knox days. I recall, oh so well, the hopes and dreams that the hiring of Coach Mike Holmgren brought to us, the love affair losing luster when success didn't happen immediately, and now coming full circle to recognizing the game plan Coach Mike Holmgren had all along that brought us to this, his Seahawks Super Bowl year!
I think about the quarterback controversy we had many years running, practically from the later years of Dave Krieg's career until the early years of Matt Hasselbeck's career as a Seahawk; the rebuilding years (not again!); the "Best 8 and 8 team in the league" and the "Same Old Seahawks" mantra and, I shudder to say, the torturous "Heeey Sea-chickens...!" from opposing teams.
Well, we made it! We got to the big game and we did ourselves proud! It wasn't enough to get the final victory but I'm still so proud of our team! Thanks to the entire organization and all the fans for the fun of this season! It's been SO much fun!
By the way, it's not too late to get your NFC Championship merchandise here.
Yes, it's true! Dave Krieg's Championship shoes really were for sale at eBay!! No! They're not mine! Are you kidding? I would never sell Dave's shoes! But I'd buy 'em if I had more $$$ and I'd put them in a protective case and I would admire them on a daily basis! Oh! I'd be so proud!
I may not have Dave's shoes but I did recently get to visit with Dave Krieg by phone! You can read about it here if you'd like! It's good stuff!
