Brian Blades
"I'd like to thank (owner) Paul Allen, the entire Seahawks organization and the fans outside the state that have supported me throughout my time in Seattle. It has meant so much to me." -- Brian Blades
"It definitely feels different around here because Brian has been like a fixture in this organization for so long. I've had a chance to play with him for three years, and it was a pleasure to have been around the guy. I'm sure he'll get picked up by somebody. He's too good. He's still got some years left." -- Wide Receiver Mike Pritchard
BLEAH ...
No matter how "sensible" this might be, it still takes some of the fun out of this season.
-- Leigh Schneider, Australia
Yes, Becky, it does hurt. They should have asked him to take a pay cut and kept him. In a third and three situation, I'd rather throw to him than anyone else.
-- Melvin Durai, Pennsylvania
Wow, I cannot believe that. They are complaining about McKnight's catching ability & that they have too many recievers then cut Brian & sign Jordan? I sure hope Mike knows what the hell he is doing...
-- Glenn Bartlett, Oregon
Blades' number should be retired in Seattle when his football career is over. I will definitely miss him.
-- Greg Renner, Washington
I too was very sad (and even upset) to see Brian Blades leave the Seahawks. He always seemed to give us 100%--on and off the field. Wherever he lands, his new team has one heck of a fella in their club. Good Luck Brian, we love and will miss you.
-- Ida McClure, Washington
I, too, am going to miss Brian Blades. He's been one of my favorites since he came to the team. Under the tutelage of Steve Largent, how could he miss? I can't stand the thought of him playing for another team!! I think it's going to be worse than watching Chris Warren be a Cowboy!!
-- Karyn Christner, Washington
I don't know what to say but he should be in the honor hall. He was one of the players that made it count when he needed to and brought a Seahawk player's name on the NFL stats chart each season when he played. I think top ten receptions a season at season end. I was saddened and very upset with them leting him go. The team is going to a team that I do not know at all but the defense. All I do now is hope they win and root for the defensive players. :) I guess it is just me. I will always be a Seahawk fan and the whole NFL is doing the same as them so I can't blame them. Maybe with injury flute and alot of luck a team will pick up Krieg and Blades for help for their team and we can see some magic once again. If that happens everyone would know why Blades should be in the shrine.
