Just for fun through the 2008 footy season, I'm going to chronicle the seasons of these two players through my own personal opinions listening to the game and via media outlets. Your feedback is welcome!

Regular Season

Round 2 - Richmond 13.8.86 - Kangaroos 20.7.127

I was very excited because I got to listen to the first half of this game live via the Internet. I finally went to bed around 2am, but I wasn't convinced we were going to lose this game. While I was listening, Richmond stayed very competitive.

Brett Deledio

Brett Deledio - I really didn't hear anything about Deledio on the audio broadcast other than the goal he kicked in the 2nd quarter. I lost the connection a few times so I won't say that he wasn't mentioned elsewhere in the first half, but I was unable to follow his play successfully via the audio call. The photo on this page says a LOT, however! The Club website said he ended the game "with a game-high 27 possessions" and two goals!

The Sportal says: Brett Deledio might have started the season slowly against Carlton in round one but he was right back to his best last week in gathering 27 possessions against the Kangaroos to be clearly the Tigers' best player on a day when Richmond had few contributors.

Nathan Foley - I only heard his name called once on the audio broadcast as well, and that was when he "snatched the loose footy near the 50" and kicked a goal in the first quarter! That was very exciting! He ended the game with 2 goals.

The Herald Sun is clearly giving him kudos in regards to game planning for next week. They report: SHUTTING down Richmond clearance star Nathan Foley will be a big emphasis for Collingwood in Sunday's Round 3 game. Foley's bursts from the centre set the Tigers up for quick goals in the opening minutes of the last clash between these sides and paved the way for an upset win in round 19 last season.

Round 3 - Richmond 11.12.78 - Collingwood 18.14.122

Hmmmm, well, I got to hear this game live via the Internet and there wasn't a positive thing to say about Richmond. We just plain stunk. I've been a fan of Jason Dunstall's for years but I was holding a bit of a grudge against him during the game because he had nothing good to say about our beloved Tigers! There will be better weeks. There HAS to be!

Nathan Foley - The Richmond FC site reported that "Nathan Foley fought bravely all day." He was named best among Richmond players.

Brett Deledio - The Club site says, "Brett Deledio was moved into the middle from the forward line and helped his side gain the upper hand around the stoppages."
