Fran Tarkenton completed 26 of 31 passes for 274 yards against the spunky Seahawks, including the game-winning touchdown on a four-yard pass to Stu Voigt with 4:52 to play.

Seattle had a 21-20 lead early in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks had a late opportunity for victory disappear when rookie quarterback Jim Zorn missed an open receiver in the end zone.

Zorn hit Sam McCullum on a 58-yard pass to the Viking eight. On third down and inches a run failed to break the end zone and Zorn's pass was off the mark on fourth down.

"We played well but we didn't win," said Seattle Coach Jack Patera. "It was disappointing."
