Hi Becky,I just wanted to give you a brief story for now.I remember buying football cards during the 1976 season, and I also remember that was the year that the NFL had two expansion teams the Tampa Bay Buccaneers(NFC), and the Seattle Seahawks(AFC) of course.I can name some of my favorites. Seahawks: QB Jim Zorn, and WR Steve Largent.Dan Dordnick RB ( I might be wrong on spelling ) Tampa Bay: TE Jim Obradovich. I think that's it for now.......John K.

In 1976 I was a Football Fanatic and 12 years old. I lived at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge , 6 miles out of Cheney. My 9 year old Brother and I used to ride our bikes in to watch Practices. My highlight was when Carl Barisich let me try his Helmet on. Seattle Seahawk practices and Savage House Pizza afterward, that was a nice combo! I miss Washington State, it is a great place to live.

I will never forget it. Being only 12, it was great. He was such a nice guy. The helmet was so big on me. I can still remember him saying "you'll grow into it". That was a very special summer in Cheney. We used to catch the Footballs that the Kickers kicked and we would throw them back. I live in Denver now.

I grew up in South Dakota where you either love the Vikings or love what
ever team they are playing. I bought my first Seahawk sweatshirt before the
start of the 76 season. My brother lives in Seattle and I had been there
many times. I decided at the start of the 76 season I was going to make the
Seahawks my new team. I was sixteen and dating a girl from Beaver Creek
Minnesota. When her family talked about the Vikings is was always in terms
of we. I was at there house on Sunday November 14th when the Seahawks gave
the Vikings all they could handle at home and almost won the game with
several chances to score within the 10. I've loved and hated the Seahawks
every year since. A Seahawk fan for life.

I grew up on NW Football. I remember telling my dad that
the Baltimore Colts would be NFL Champions within 5
years of their start, he said I was nuts. (He also said
Elvis was a flash in the pan.)Anyhow I remember when Husky Football was all we had and said then if we can get 65,000 people into Husky Stadium WE CAN SUPPORT PRO FOOTBALL. So the Seahawks were kind of a fantasy of mine from my childhood years. When they actually came about I wasn't about to miss a game. So I hooked up through the Autovon (telephone system) to a nice operator at Fairchild AFB.
The only thing that has ever been wrong with Seahawk Football was Ken Unberable. We are now building a nice team again. I hope the Hawks get to be more fun again like back in the Jim Zorn, Steve Raible, & Efran Herrera days. Of course there were a lot more good guys to remember but those were fun football days.
You know it probably wasn't this way but I remember my Seahawk thinking was that Jim Zorn had NO protection, Sherman Smith could only run a sprint draw, we had no outside run to talk about, so Zorn spent his time running around the backfield looking for Largent or Raible. They always went with Dan Dornick on 3rd down or so it seems.
Oh by the way it might have helped that I was in the Signal Corps (as far as keeping my phone connection).
Let's hope the Hawks do well on Sunday. Let's hope it's a fun game because after all, it is a game and should be fun.
