Well I was actually in Italy in the Army, but I would call the operator in Spokane, Washington who would hook me up to the radio so I could listen to each of the Seahawk games in 1976, bless her heart.

I have many wonderful Seahawk memories. Playoff games, Largent's record setting catch, Cortez's TD, Bo Jackson, Sweetness, Bronco Buster night on Monday Night and the numerous times we beat the c@*p out of John Elway etc.

I was there the day Dave Kreig replaced Jim Zorn, I was there when Bo jackson ran up the runway, I was there for the first ever playoff game, I was there when the #12 was retired, I was there for some great moments and heartbreaking defeats.

But my favorite part of Seahawk football was the Kingdome itself. When the fans would roar, or the "wave" was making its way around the dome, the Kingdome would shake. You could actually hear the concrete rumble! It was a sound like no other in any stadium in the NFL or any other stadium for that matter.

THAT was home field advantage...the loudest arena in all of sports....Hawk fans are the best and I for one miss a venue that forced a new way for teams to prepare for a game (closed arena with loud music playing). You can implode the arena but not destory the legacy!

It was 1976, I was 7 years old. That is when my life made one of those interesting twists that change a person. I decided to watch my first football game ever. I watched Jim Zorn, Steve Largent and the boys lose a game. I was hooked forever! Since that time I have increasingly become a deeper fan. I have learned a great deal about football since then, but I still feel like a little kid in a candy store every time I get to watch them play. I have had the opportunity to see them play in person numerous times, including a playoff game in Cincinnati. I have been honored to meet players like Kenny Easley (whom I modeled my high school safety play after), Jim Zorn, and Effren Herrera. I feel blessed to have become a fan of the one team who has always had the best fans! Long Live #12!!

I am a 30 year old Female fan of The Seattle Seahawks. Born in Auburn, Washington.

I have been a fan ever since I can remember; from the age of 5. I recall back in 1976 when the Seahawks were introduced. My dad was watching it on TV, and I went and sat on his lap to watch it with him. It was then that I first became a fan. From that point on I would climb into my dad's lap and watch it with him.

In 1980 my family moved here to Fresno California, and it was then that I became a big fan of Steve Largent, and still to this day I hold him in high regard. It was not easy back then, in 1980, to be a Hawks fan. As 95 percent of the people here in Fresno were either Raiders fan's or 49ers fans. Yet no matter what I remained faithful through all the rough times, the losses, the insults, and the changes. Nothing could change my mind. I was a tried and true fan, and proudly let it be known.

On many occasions I was threatened with bodily harm, teased, harassed, mocked, laughed at, scorned, dumped by boyfriends due to peer pressure, punched, pushed, thrown into bushes, amongst many other things; and still through all that I still remained a BIG FAN OF THE SEATTLE SEAHAWKS. This sort of treatment began in Grade School, on to Middle School, and well on into High School. I did not win over many friends due to my preferences in Football Teams. Yet, no matter what happened, nor how I was treated I would not back down.

I am very proud of The Seattle Seahawks. I do not hide my head when we lose a game. I lift my head real high, and proclaim; "We Will Prevail, You'll See" I have an immeasurable amount of Faith in my team, and will NEVER give up on the Hawks. They are my Home Team, and I Love Them!

True Blue & Green Fan since 1976,
Faith And Pride
Thank You for the MANY years of memories, and NOT Giving up on your Fans!

I am a long time Seahawk fan, since 1976 to be exact! Grew up in WA, graduated from Lake Washington HS in 83. I love the Hawks and will always be a fan, much to the dismay of my wife.

As a side note, I live in Kansas now (am in the Army) and a neighbor went to school with Itula Mili and saw him this past month at the BYU campus and got me an autograph. Itula stated I must be a REAL fan if I know the back-up tight end and want his autograph!

In 1976 I knew nothing about football. Then, I happened to catch a Seahawks game. I was seven years old. I have been a die hard fan ever since. I can't tell you why, but I can say that I have never wavered. Despite all reality, I always think that this is the year we make the Super Bowl!

Excerpt from the booklet Seahawks 10 Anniversary:

Left-handed quarterbacks whose names begin with Z are rare in professional football. That alone constituted Zorn's meager claim to press attention. Until August 1, 1976, that is. Before 60,825 expectant fans in the Kingdome, the Seahawks made their first appearance in an exhibition game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Lloyd Nordstrom, the key owner in the franchise award, was not there. He had died of a heart attack while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico, seven months earlier, and just 17 days after Patera was hired.

Dave Williams, the first player signed, was not there. He had injured a leg running in an exhibition race in an indoor track meet, ending his football career in a rancorous disagreement over the Seahawks' liability.

Even impatient fans can turn fickle quickly. Boos resounded in the Dome as the Hawks left the field at halftime trailing 17-0. When the 49er lead rose to 24-0 in the third period, Patera lifted the starting quarterback, Neil Graff, and sent in Zorn.

Zorn signaled his and the Seahawks' future immediately. On the first play of his career, he passed 48 yards to Sam McCullum. The unheralded southpaw went on to throw touchdown passes to McCullum and Ron Howard, and ran for another touchdown. On the game's final play, he scampered 13 yards before being tackled two yards short of a tying touchdown. The Hawks lost, 27-20, yet won the early fervor of the fans.
