Ushering in the New Era: Coach Mora's First Season

Pre-season:
4 games, 4 victories!
Not that they matter, except that Coach Mora wants to create a climate of winning.

Regular Season:

Game 1 - Seattle Seahawks 28 - St. Louis Rams 0
Fantastic start to the season for Jim Mora with a huge win at home!
Paul Allen presents Jim Mora with a game ball!

Game 2 - Seattle Seahawks 10 - San Francisco 49ers 23
“It’s awfully early in the season to be calling it a must win or anything like that, but it’s a big game, an important game, and a game we want to win. But certainly there’s added emphasis. It’s the 49ers, it’s on the road, they had a big win, and they’re a division opponent. It’s a big game.”

Game 3 - Seattle Seahawks 19 - Chicago Bears 25
"It's just the third game of the season, we have 13 left." - Ken Lucas

Game 4 - Seattle Seahawks 17 - Indianapolis Colts 34
"They're capitalizing on the things we didn't do well." - Lofa Tatupu

Game 5 - Seattle Seahawks 41 - Jacksonville Jaguars 0
Owen Schmitt bangs his head with his helmet as he runs onto the field, requiring stitches. Hass is back and we dominate!

Game 6 - Seattle Seahawks 3 - Arizona Cardinals 27
"When you have your foot on someone else's throat, you leave it there. You push it in if you need to, but you don't take it off." - Opponent and former Seahawk Chike Okeafor

Game 7 - Seattle Seahawks 17 - Dallas Cowboys 38
That's our 11th loss in our last 13 road games. Ugh.

Game 8 - Seattle Seahawks 32 - Detroit Lions 20
"I didn't sense any panic on our bench when we got down 17-0. I felt a resolve amongst our players." - Coach Mora

Game 9 - Seattle Seahawks 20 - Arizona Cardinals 31
Darnell Dockett took Okeafor's words seriously when he put a dirty lick on Hass's neck following a sack. This ought to start a division rivalry for years to come.

Game 10 - Seattle Seahawks 9 - Minnesota Vikings 35
"We are going to keep searching. We are not going to throw up our hands and give up." - Coach Mora

Game 11 - Seattle Seahawks 27 - St. Louis Rams 21
"Nobody is going to call it beautiful." - Coach Mora
'cept me! Happy birthday to me, we win!!

Game 12 - Seattle Seahawks 20 - San Francisco 49ers 17
"Never apologize for a win!" - Nate Burleson

Game 13 - Seattle Seahawks 7 - Houston Texans 34
"As slim as our playoff aspirations were, they were there. They're not there anymore." - Coach Mora

Game 14 - Seattle Seahawks 7 - Tampa Bay Buccaneers 24
After stating that we won four games last season, Mora said, "Let's not lose track of that folks!"

Game 15 - Seattle Seahawks 10 - Green Bay Packers 48
"We really let it get out of hand." - John Carlson

Game 16 - Seattle Seahawks 7 - Tennessee Titans 13
And then he was gone. Just like that.

Coach Jim Mora on our first victory

"It was especially emotional for me because there is some significance to it; I'd be lying if I didn't tell you that there was. I have thought about this day for a long, long time. It was kind of a surreal experience for me. It was great. It was perfect. I'm happy. I'm happy."
