I must say that it all began for me at the ripe old age of 9. I was not into football much & my father never watched it. I had a friend who was a big Redskins fan at the time & he turned me on to playing a little pass & catch during the fall. He said there were a couple of games on Sunday & I started watching football.

I was not really into it much at first. Most of the team's colors I saw just did not do it for me. Then it just happened, there was this new team from a city up north that had this left handed QB (Jim Zorn). I thought, wow that's cool, left handed just like my mom. I bet he's real good! I watched that team, that QB, those colors & the fact that they were just up North Mom said, someplace called Seattle & they had this cool name, "SEAHAWKS". All the Power of the Sea, with the claws & wings of the mighty Hawk.

I loved to watch the fake kicks & gambling on 4th downs. They lost a lot, but man where they fun to watch. I was hooked, they grabbed me with their mighty talons that day & I have grown up playing, watching & loving Football & the Seahawks ever since. My father watches now too, mainly because I turned him on to them.

My special memories are of the first trip up there. We lost to the Chargers & Dan Fouts. We had the hardest time getting 300 level tickets then; it was the early 80's. But it was my first game. I loved it. Later, it was Curt Warner & Dave Krieg with the mighty Steve Largent. I vowed that I would come back as much as possible & someday I would own season tickets. It never happened until 1995. Then tickets were so easy to get; we had gotten so bad. Everyone said, "Why? They suck, they will always suck. You should go for the Raiders or Steelers." Bah, I am true blue to the core. I bought season tickets that year & will never release them.

Now it's Kitna, Holmgren, Watters, Galloway, Brown, Sinclair, Springs & TEZ. I go up to training camp every year & have a ball. This is by far the best time to be a Seahawks fan, 'cause I have lived through the worst. That's why winning the Super Bowl now will make it even sweeter. I make the trip every year to Seattle for the games from Beaverton, Oregon 10 times a year & now I am grooming my son for the same thing.
