Sept. 22, 2007 - Gig Harbor, WA to Seattle, WA
We picked up a loaf of bread at Le Panier, window shopped the Egyptian store for belly dance costumes, and walked over to Pensione Nichols to check it out. Jan and I decided to try the secret door code and go on in. Up one huge flight of stairs. A landing. Doors. Up another flight of stairs. A landing and a front desk. The man I spoke with on the phone was at the front desk – a very nice gentleman. We explained who we were and he invited us to look around. He even let me peek into the room that's mine tomorrow night! We checked out the great room that overlooks the waterfront. All very, very nice! I think it will be OK! The pre-trip inspection allowed me to feel less nervous about my first B&B stay! My room is very small. VERY small. Just one room. One bed. No windows. A bed, a dresser, a ceiling fan. Tony had the grill ready when we arrived. He'd also sliced up carrots to saute and had made a
cole slaw salad. I'm impressed!!! I had purchased a marinated flank steak from the
market, as well as ... ready for this ... lamb!!! The lamb looked SO good - so fresh!
                  I couldn't resist! [continue reading...]
