Sept. 21, 2007 - Gig Harbor, WA to Paulsbo, WA
When we finished shopping, I wanted to walk over to a statue I saw. It was a rather disappointing statue of a Viking. We found a boardwalk just beyond the statue and decided to go exploring. Turns out the boardwalk exited onto a path that went for about a mile or so, so we had a nice hike through a forested area over the body of water. Very, very nice. I liked it a LOT!

Then we went to dinner. Oh Diary!!!! When you get to Anthony's Home Port before 6, they offer a 4 course meal for $18. I wasn't sure which entree I wanted. The safe bet is the shrimp alfredo, which I knew I'd like. The iffy choice, and the northwest choice, was the lincod in sour cream sauce. I asked the waiter to choose for me and just deliver whichever of the two he thought was best. I could tell by his eyes (he looked like Tom Cruise!) that he'd bring me the lincod. He lit up when I offered that choice. Not being a fishy person, I was a little nervous.

The first course was shrimp cocktail which was WONDERFUL! The second course was a Caesar salad (or clam chowder but I don't know if I can safely eat clams due to seafood allergies). The third course was our entree, the lincod fish. It was out of this world. I couldn't take a bite without mmmmm-ing!! That's got to rank up there as one of the best meals I've ever had - seriously!!! The
flavors of the fish and the sauce were SO delicious!!! And for dessert - burnt creme.
If THAT wasn't delicious!!! We waddled back to the house, walked the dog,
and plopped down for the evening exhausted. We only walked about 7500 steps
today but it was a physical day and I'm exhausted. [continue reading...]
