Sept. 21, 2007 - Gig Harbor, WA to Paulsbo, WA
Dear Diary,
This was another super sensational day! Honestly, I think I could sit on the front porch steps and just be happy doing nothing. I love this part of the country. I feel so GOOD here!

Jan and I took our time getting around this morning, walked the Hill Climb in Gig Harbor (quite nice), then headed up to a town called Poulsbo (pronounced Pauls Bow.) It's quite a drive - maybe an hour? We drove past Bremerton which is where the naval shipyard is located. Huge navy vessels sat in port. We arrived in Poulsbo at lunchtime so we found a park bench near the waterfront and sat down to another picnic lunch.

It was a repeat of yesterday's picnic lunch, at my request. Jan didn't want to eat out and I was perfectly content with yesterday's meal, so we fixed the same sandwiches for today. Why does a simple sandwich taste better when someone else makes it? Jan mixes mustard with mayo before spreading it on the bread - a trick we will remember!

Poulsbo is a Swedish/Nordic town that sits on the water. They have a lot of craft stores and shops
selling art. We went in and out of the stores looking at foo stuff. I bought some beads
for Ashley for her birthday - there was a shop that sold specialized beads for
jewelry-making and they had some cat beads and charms I thought she'd like.
