Sept. 25, 2007 - Oregon Coast We went to Panache, a foo restaurant in Newport for dinner. "Northwest Cuisine with a Twist." (www.panachenewport.com) Karyn had the special which was practically raw tuna. Eeeuuuw! Craig had fish, which I thought about getting, but I opted for a steak instead. I’ve been pretty adventurous so far when it comes to trying new things but I was feeling a steak tonight! "Painted Hills 12 oz. Rib Eye $29 - 100 % Natural Beef Steaks are served w/Port Demi-glace, Yukon Gold Garlic Mashed Potatoes & Vegetable du jour." It was absolutely fantastic! Yum, yum! We shared a creme brule for dessert. Isn't it funny that I hadn't had creme brule before and now I've had it twice?!?!? This time it was made with Chinese 5 spice, which was really different. Good, but different. When we got back to our room, I looked out the window to watch the tide. (I don't know much about tides.) A couple had started a small campfire on the beach. How cool (warm!) would that be?! K&C are good travel companions. We've talked a lot, laughed a lot, and explored a lot. This trip is SO much fun. |
