Sept. 24, 2007 - Seattle, WA to the Oregon Coast We stopped at Seaside, Oregon to walk on the beach, and again at Canon Beach to see Haystack Rock. We spent quite a bit of time on the beach there as it was almost sunset and the view was quite lovely. I'm not sure why it's so scenic to see those huge rocks in the water but it's extremely captivating. I could watch the waves slam into those rocks for hours on end. I'm also surprised at the huge expanse of beach. Beautiful sand beaches, sparsely populated, go on seemingly forever! From Canon Beach we headed to Tillamook where we'll stay for the night. We were all so tired by that point in time that we simply ate in the hotel restaurant and went to our rooms exhausted. By the way, I think I failed to mention yesterday that I tried truffles at the truffle store in Pike's Market. I was hugely disappointed! They were disgusting!! All this time I've been so anxious to try them and when I finally did, I discovered they are nasty little things! Anyway, it's late and I'm tired so I should get to bed. Good night, Diary. |
