Geelong 12.18.90- Richmond 17.8.110
What a fantastic win!!! We managed to break free of the Geelong curse! Oh, I am so proud of the boys!

At any point in time during the game we could have given up. It was a close match the entire way, and we'd fallen behind at quarter time, half time, and three quarter time. But the boys came to play and they weren't about to give up! It was 2am my time before the game ended and I didn't think even for a second about turning off the game to go to bed! It was exciting, we were competitive, and it was fun footy!!! Yea us!!!

I'm disappointed for Richo who had opportunities and didn't seem to make the best of them. I'm wishing like mad that I could have seen the Pettifer mark that was supposed to be spectacular! And I'm disappointed for Brad Ottens, who didn't have the sort of game I'm sure he'd wished he'd had against his former team. Maybe he should have stuck with us! :-)

Terrific win! Good one, boys!!

Hi again Becky,
The game was great wasn't it. It was a really good game to watch. A tough close contest. It's a pity about Delidio getting injured, but I was watching a discussion show this morning and apparently it s not too bad, and he shouldn't miss more than a week or two. Anyway I hope it put a smile on your face.
Cheers,
John.

Hey Becky
You know, when I looked at the draw at the start of the season i thought that if we came out of the first nine games with four wins we would have done well. We now actually have five and I really cannot believe it. We beat Geelong in Geelong for the first time since years and years, almost as long as I have been alive, and though that isn't too long, it seems a hell of a long time to me. Wow. We played some real good footy today. How good is Kayne Pettifer. I couldn't sing his praises enough last week and this week it is no different. He done some fantastic things again as did Chris Hyde. Considering Hyde never kicked much goals before and was considered a dour tagger in his earlyer games, he is really showing some flair. His four goals were great and his efforts were fantastic. Dean Polo, Richard Tambling and Danny Meyer really pleased me today. This is only their second year on the list and today they were all major contributors. Its a real shame about Deledio with his knee but it isn't too serious as they reckon its only a medial ligument strain so hopefully only a couple of weeks on the sidelines for him. I really dont think we had any real passengers today as everyone chipped in. Our second and third efforts were superb, but I think it was our tackling that really got us over the line. It was also a real four quarter effort and the first time I could enjoy the last few minutes of a game in a very long time. We have got Fremantle in Perth next week so hopefully we can give them a shake. Remember, as long as we improve, give a four quarter effort and keep up the second efforts, losing wont matter.

Go the Tigers!!!!
