Carlton 11.18.84 - Richmond 12.20.92

OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

NOTHING makes me happier than when we beat CARLTON!!!! GO YOU TIGES! YOU HAVE MADE ME SO PROUD!!!!!

We are injured, we are a bit melancholy from the disastrous start to the season, and yet we beat the Blues!! That's the best news I've heard all weekend!

Was Richo on ... or not?!?! Various newspaper sources report: "Richmond star forward Matthew Richardson mixed brilliance with frustrating errors as the Tigers survived a mistake-riddled AFL encounter to defeat Carlton by eight points at the MCG." (Source: Yahoo) Not exactly encouraging. Furthermore: "On a night when the two prominent forwards on the ground, Matthew Richardson and Brendan Fevola, missed nine shots between them, kicks slewed far from targets and turnovers abounded, it was Richmond that staggered over the line." (Source: Fairfax)

OK, maybe it wasn't a thing of beauty but the bottom line is that we came out on top and we've chalked up our second victory. Two victories puts us back into competition. We have some recovery to do to make up for our sluggish start, but I can at least see optimism now!

Hi Becky!
Well this is weird. Another happy email!
I don't know how much of the game you heard, but it really was a comedy of errors. The whole no skill thing didn't bug me that much, because they were taking chances and moving the ball quickly. What was annoying was the missed shots on goal, honestly 12.20 is ridiculous. Richo was BOG again. I really liked young Andrew Raines' game, though.

Have something to say? Please e-mail me! I'd love to hear from you! Please be sure to reference the Richmond Tigers in the subject line for priority mail handling! THANK YOU!
