Kangaroos 9.13.67 - Richmond 15.12.102
This is the most peculiar season! Once again we have handily beaten an opponent that has given us trouble for years. You know, if we ever get it together and start playing consistently, we just might be a force with which to be reckoned!

A hearty welcome back to Nathan Brown! Very good timing for his return since Richo is out of the game with an injury. That was almost like pulling a rabbit out of a hat!

I want to share an interesting perspective on this game, something a little different than usual. The mail in my in-box has a continuing theme of how cold it was in Melbourne for this game. While I don't dispute that it was chilly for Melbourne, 8-9 degrees C (46-48 degrees F) is practically shirt-sleeve weather for a football game in the US! You haven't lived until you've sat through an ice game, bundled in so many layers you can hardly move your arms or legs. There's something insanely fun about putting down a trash bag and then a blanket on your seat before sitting down, and then huddling together under a blanket with a stocking cap covering all but your eyes. You know it's cold when the restrooms are filled at half-time with women taking off their shoes and socks in front of the heaters to try to get a little feeling back into their toes! Ahhhh, the memories!

I'm glad it was cold in Melbourne for this game. And I'm glad that fans turned out to sit in the cold to watch footy! You get double bragging rights -- for the victory and for enduring the cold!!!!

Hi Becky,
Did you listen to the game yesterday? Good stuff wasn't it! It was great to see Nathan Brown have a good comeback game. So now we're 6 -5 at the half way point, which isn't too bad.

Hi Becky!
I hope you were able to listen to the live feed yesterday. That was a great match. It was also absolutely freezing, you really have to question your sanity, sitting around in 8 degrees freezing your you know whats off watching a bunch of blokes fighting over possession of a piece of pigskin.

Weather aside it was awesome. North have always been a problem for us, even when they're not travelling that well. We had not beaten them since 2001, we also hadn't played them at the G since then. It's also been a few years since we won a game in June. It's my birthday on Thursday so I count this as an early birthday present! Great to see it's the younger, lesser known players doing it and there was another recent first: we kicked over 100 points without Richo. Brownie was magnificent in his second comeback. I enjoyed this game so much.

Note: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHRIS!!!
