Player of my choice each week? Hmmm...lemmesee who can I do this week? They were all so damn good and I'm so proud I could just about bust. Okay Mark Chaffey.

I'll say it here and now that I am a big Chaff fan. When we picked him up I was a little sceptical, this was a kid who had taken a year off to go to America and try his hand at baseball, he only came to the club's attention because he had gone to school with Nick Jewell (Tony's son and drafted the same year as Chaff). He made a few games that year and did not exactly endear himself to fans, by accidentally kicking Richo in the arm and breaking it towards the end of a hammering by Port Adelaide. They did not seem to know what to do with him and I can remember them sticking him at full forward against West Coast once, he tried really hard and for his size he takes a good mark, but that was never going to work. Before the 2000 season he said that he wanted to become a regular senior selection. At the time I thought he needed to work on his skills and decision making. Once he got into the side that year he impressed me with his cool head and a much improved kick, long, penetrating and accurate. From that point on he has not looked back. He fills in back pocket beautifully, drives us out of defence, can drift forward and kick goals, sure hands, strong mark for his size, highly underrated player, possibly not just for Richmond, but the entire comp. He'd be one of the first picked each week and you could see how much we missed him when he was suspended against Collingwood. I love him I really do. He adds an entire dimension to our backline. Reminds me of Merv Keane.

hey becky! Your profile on chaffy was great! I would love to see one on Mark Coughlan. Hes my fav player--> love him to bits! I dont have any goss on him or aything i was hoping you would provide something enjoyable to read! hehe. It would b great if u could do that. Congrats on your site its really good!!
