As a transplant of the other expansion team of 76, (Tampa) my love, and respect for the Seattle area has always been there. I played eight years, and was taught the basics by a former Hawk. My high school coach was Ike Williams, a running back from FAMU, who played here briefly before a career ending injury. It wasn't so much the game he shared with me, but the life outside of football.

My senior year I tore my ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus. First play, first game as senior, and never played again. Four knee surgeries, and 16 years later I remember what he taught me. The greatest thing he said was "life on the field is only a moment, however brief...a moment. Life outside of the gridiron, lasts forever."

I walk tall (A limp, most days. LOL!) but instill that on my son. He has aspirations of playing, but regardless of whether he's lucky enough or not, it is the love of the game, and not the "life", that matters.

I'm excited about this team, I see tremendous promise, and even more success. Thank you.
