"They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings as eagles;
They shall run, and not be weary;
They shall walk and not faint." -- Isaiah 40:31

"A lot of times if we wait on Him, we'd have a lot more blessings than we ever thought we could have." -- Levon Kirkland

I strive to help my team as much as possible.

For a team this is fine. I want us to go back to the Superbowl. I missed not going last year and I think we definitely got a team to go there. We just have to work hard. For myself, just to play consistent like I'd been doing the last years. Get a chance to go back to the Pro Bowl and help my team out as much as possible.

Unselfish teams are winning teams.

I think the intangibles come in. I think as a team you have to be unselfish. If you got a team of unselfish guys doing their job and trying to win, I think that's the most important thing. A lot of times, people are just doing it for themselves. They try to get their stats up. I think if you've got a team who's an unselfish team, who, you know, back each other up, you'll have a successful team. I think that's the difference between a lot of teams.

I don't try to put any more pressure on myself than I have to.

It really is a challenge and what I try to do is try to have a mind of peace most of the time. I tell you reading scriptures and meditating a lot really helps me to keep my mind at peace. God helps me keep it in perspective. But I try not to put any more pressure on myself than I have to.

I'm just trying to do my little part.

I just let God take control. I'm not trying to have it all myself. I'm not trying to make sure that I'm doing this. I'm doing that. I'm just trying to you know, do my little part and then He'll take over the rest.

I've put football in its proper perspective.

That was something I was raised with as far as a kid is concerned. My father was a minister, and I had to separate on my own. Last year, I accepted Him, but you know it's been a positive change for me. I've played better. I mean, a lot of positive aspects have come from the game and for myself. It just seemed like He put it into perspective for me. I didn't put football as my God first. I put Him first. You know football came a little later on down the line. We all come up short.

Well, basically what I say is, you don't try to do everything on your own. Know that you do have a higher power, which is God. And you can always go to Him no matter what you did or how many times you mess up, how many times you come up short. You know, as Christians we come up short a lot of times. But what we can do is just keep having faith and keep believing and be patient and wait on Him. A lot of times if we wait on Him, we'd have a lot more blessings than we ever thought we could have.
