Richmond 13.8.86 - Hawthorn 16.13.109
I had a bit of a conflict this week. My beloved Seattle Seahawks were playing at the same time as my beloved Richmond Tigers. The Seahawks are into their second pre-season game, and unlike the AFL and the Wizard Cup, preseason counts for absolutely nothing except to try out a few things. The Tigers are into the next to the last game in a season that is best left forgotten. Given the two, I decided to watch the Seahawks on television and follow the scoreboard of the Tigers on the Internet. Funny thing is, neither game was really worth it! My Seahawks were almost boring with conservative play calling. And my Tigers let us all down once again.

We're firmly at the bottom of the ladder now. I guess all we can say about that is BRING ON THE DRAFT!

Hi Becky,
Not sure if you listened to the game or not, if you did you would know by now that Richmond lost again and we are now bottom of the world. It may not stay that way for the season. If we beat Sydney (unlikely) and the Hawks get absolutely pumped by Geelong (extremely likely) and we don't lose by much to the Swans we may still wind up 15th and not 16th, but honestly it really doesn't matter that much. 16th will get us the number one draft pick, probably a kid from Kyabram called Brett Deledio and a priority. 15th will get us the number two draft pick, not sure who that will be and a priority. There are big wraps on this Deledio kid so maybe finishing stone motherless last may be an advantage. Poor list management and the worst coaching I have ever seen in all my years of watching football have done this to the Tigers. Thank you very much Danny Frawley! We're going to be bottom for a few years, but at least with a real coach and not a pretend one like Frawley we may actually have some hope of getting off there before the club folds.

Chris

Hey Becky
Well well, I didn't expect Richmond to be sitting at 16th at r21 at the start of the season. It looks like we may have just put it in the bag. It is better to come last than 9th though so we get the early draft picks. Ben Marsh played an absoloute shocker and only got his first kick in the 3rd or final quarter. It is to hard to remember a disgraceful performance like that. I think back to the preseason draft when we got him. He was no. four overall. The picks before him were Rawlings, Stevens and Reid. Rawlings and Reid have done an honest effort and Stevens has been terrific but Marsh, has been terrible. I cannot wait for the trade and draft periods as this is about as bad as it can get.

Bring on 2005
