Why were we able to remain competitive in the first quarter when we fell apart in the second quarter? At 11:26 my time (midway through the first quarter) the announcers described the game as "a pretty good game of footy." I couldn't have agreed more. The lead went back and forth and Richmond played seemingly capable football. Richo had kicked three goals and looked confident.

At 11:56pm my time (early in the second quarter) Richmond were described by the announcers as "Hanging by their skinny skin skin". At 12:12 my time, a mere 16 minutes later, they described Richmond as "Not in the race today." THAT ... in 16 minutes of footy action.

I never like to play for a draft pick but at this point it appears that's all we've got left to hope for.

You know I really have to ask myself if football has somehow affected my sanity. I mean nothing else could explain today. It was freezing cold and I left my nice warm, centrally heated house to sit in a draughty cold stadium and watch a team that almost never wins. You know, as you've listened to the game, that today was a pretty average performance. I was pleased to see that the young fellas: Tuck, Moore, Jackson, Roach and Hartigan did not disgrace themselves, although I do wonder if playing in a belting like that is going to be any good for their future development. I really don't understand Danny Frawley, is he really that stupid? He must be. When you attack, kick long and take a few risks you generally kick goals at the very least you walk off the ground knowing that you had a go, however if you continually revert to his negative, defensive and plain frightened style of chipping it around and keeping possession you don't score, you still lose and you walk off wondering why you bothered to turn up in the first place. Thank God we only have to endure 5 more weeks of this idiot.
