Collingwood 6.9.45 - Richmond 13.14.92 YES! YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!

My apologies to my friend Karyn, who loves nothing more than to say GO THE PIES! I'm sorry that one of our teams had to lose, but better yours than mine!! :-) (I would expect you to say the same thing had Collingwood won!)

Just when you think the 2006 Tiges are medicore at best, they pull off a victory against the mighty Pies! Go figure! I don't know how they did it but it was the sweetest thing to listen to via Internet audio! I don't know if we're a good rainy weather team or if Collingwood was overconfident or what, but we'll take this win with much celebration!

On the downside, the injury to Chris Newman is heartbreaking. I only had the audio broadcast to go by but even with that I had to close my eyes to try to keep out the images that the announcers put in my head. When the replay was shown, there was a collective gasp from all of them as they saw the break to Newman's leg. They described it as similar to Nathan Brown's break, although in news reports afterwards it appears that Newman has a cleaner break than Brown, not that it's really a consolation.

We'll walk away from this game celebrating a huge win while wishing Newman a full and speedy recovery.
