I'm writing in the final quarter when the scores are tied, and I'm going on record as saying right now that it doesn't matter who ends up on top, I'M PROUD OF OUR BOYS!!! Of course I want us to win, as much as anyone! But if it doesn't happen, and at this point anything could happen, I'm still SO proud of the Tigers! I thought about going to bed in the first quarter. It's been a long week and I'm exhausted, and although we were holding our own, I wasn't convinced we were playing with the skill level we needed to beat West Coast. I made a pact with myself to stick it out till half time and then go to bed. I'm not sure why I stayed up, but something kept me here. I'm SO glad I didn't miss the goal-kicking spree in the 3rd quarter! We kicked 5 goals to West Coast's 0! We were back in the game! They teased us with the thought of the lead as we crept to within 2 points, but then our fatigue started to show. We'd fought long and hard in that quarter and it was showing. So here we are, 24 minutes into the final quarter. We did indeed catch up and take the lead, only to give it back. It's been a cat and mouse game for the past few nervous minutes. At the moment, West Coast has the lead by 7. The siren can't be more than 5 minutes away. No matter what happens, we can hold our heads high! A loss will hurt -- we've come SO close -- but if it happens, there's no shame in it today! We are playing a tough team. We've struggled but we haven't quit. I'm SO proud of our boys!!! If we can hold our own with the Eagles without Nathan Brown, we're sending a statement to the entire league!! RICHO!!!!!!!!!! GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're back to a one point game!!!! COME ON TIGES!!!!! And there's the siren. We've lost by two points. What a game, this Australian Rules Football. What a wonderful, exciting, thrilling game. Thank you, Tiges! That was SOME show! Have something to say? Please e-mail me! I'd love to hear from you! Please be sure to reference the Richmond Tigers in the subject line for priority mail handling! THANK YOU!
