From the old, rusty mailbox!
I've received SO much support and cheer from Australians since I started this website! You don't know how much it's meant to me and how it's endeared me to your country and your people! I wish I'd kept all your letters over the past years but unfortunately it didn't occur to me at the start. And then, well, life got busy and I failed to keep this page current.
Good news! I'm baaaack! If you'd like to drop me a line I'll do what I can to bring this page up to date! This page is a tribute to YOU for welcoming an American warmly into your footy world!!!

Hi Becky Just seen your site, love that you have a passion for the Richmond Tigers my family have followed them for over 80 yrs, I think its the best contact sport in the world. we are having a exciting year have a big new ruckman called Ivan (EEE VARN) Maric he was born in Melbourne but is from Croatian descent he has fast become a cult figure at the club, I wish you could experience the thrill of being at the MCG when the tigers are playing. Our coach Damien Hardwick has the team playing with a lot of heart and passion a lot of the players are young but its getting exciting. I could go on and one lol but will say bye now hope you are well and will find the time to say Hello fond regards

Thanks for your great site. I just loved. I am an addicted Richmond supporter and have been since the year dot. I have just started teaching primary students in Hong Kong and your website enabled me to copy the words of the song so I can teach the little ones our most respected tune. I'll be sure to record you a copy and send it on.....Just imagine...A class full of 6 year olds singing "Oh we're from tigerland" as their English song.

hi becky, my name's Callan and I live in East Brunswick, Melbourne. I am a
lifelong Richmond fan since I grew up in Burnie, Tasmania, also home of the
Tigers. I love your site and was wondering what sort of interest there is in
the US for our great game. Anyway, keep up the good work!
Callan Walker
[Note: Interest is minimal as the games aren't shown in a prime time slot. For me, they don't come on until the middle of the night. Alas...]

You are an absolute sensation. I love footy and the tigers and I LOVE your site and your passion. Let us all know when / if you ever do get to visit and I am very sure Melbourne will give you the footy experience of a lifetime.
Can't wait to see Delidio and Tambling play for the first time on Friday (if they are both selected) in the Pre-season competition. Go Tiges!

G'day from Downunder Becky,
I stumbled across your site by accident and it was really nice to see that there are some Aussie rules fan in the US - and your a Tigers fan to boot!! Last year was such a hard hard year to barrack for Richmond. But I'm optimistic that we'll see a big improvement in 2005. I was delighted when we got Terry Wallace as coach, and they seem to have recruited well. Of course I'm not saying that their going to win a Premiership in 2005, but I do think they're on the right track. I hope one day you'll get a chance to see the Tigers play in person. Please drop me a line if you've got a moment.
Best regards,
John

Hi Becky,
I just wanted to drop you a short note to say hello, and congratulations on
your web site! It so great to see an overseas fan of AFL football, and of
course you've chosen the very best team to follow - the Richmond Tigers!
I live in Melbourne and am married with three kids ... two boys and girl.
We all follow Richmond, through the highs and the lows. Both of the guys
(aged 9 and 7) do AFL Auskick on Saturday mornings, and I am an accredited
AFL Auskick coach. They started last year and have continued with it this
year. Last year some of the highlights of our clinic included our kids
playing at half time at Telstra dome (round 17 where we got up against the
Bulldogs) and Greg Stafford coming to our clinic and spending the morning
with the kids. Man is he tall !!!
My guys always wear their Richmond uniforms with pride at Auskick. My
daughter is just about to turn five, so she will be able to start Auskick
next year if she wants! She loves the Richmond Tigers, loves watching a
game on the weekend with me, and loves to sing the theme song at the end
when we have a win!
This year we played at half time at the MCG ... unfortunately not a
Richmond game, but an amazing experience all the same. And we got to change
in Richmond's change rooms at the MCG!! Very nice. So far we have only gone
to one Richmond game ... against the Saints in round 3, not pretty. But
we're starting to get a few wins on the board now and I reckon we're
looking good to beat the Bulldogs tomorrow at the MCG.
It's fantastic too to see you're tracking the fortunes of Mark Chaffey and
Dave Rodan. Mark Chaffey is an amazing bloke.
Finally ... I had a look at your links page, it's good to see all the right
links in there!
Anyway, once again congratulations on the site and good on you for being
such a passionate supporter of the Tigers and Australian Rules Footy!
All the best,
Tim Wilson

PS. Have you ever logged on to ' The Punt Road End ", it is a particularly good and vibrant site and is posted by many classically tiger types.

"Eat em alive Tigers"
Hi Becky,
I'm a died in the wool, born and bred Richmond Tigers supporter. Paid up member for the last 6 years. Yes, I must have more money than sense. I got directed to your site by David Clayton. I liked what you wrote and was impressed that you were able to do a game review of game 1 so quickly. I have one correction to make to your game review. Yes, Richo did tear a hammy early in the season last year, but it was not during his glorious performance against the Pies in Rd 1, it was actually during our inglorious performance against the Bombers in Rd 2 (one of the many reasons I actually hate them more than Collingwood. I'm ashamed that Kevin Sheedy played 250 games and in 3 Premierships for the Tiges).
You also stated your support for Spud Frawley. I have a little issue with that. There's nothing wrong with the bloke, he's a very nice, honest man and he played his heart out for St Kilda, but Friday night convinced me that he's not the man to coach the Tigers, aside from 2001 when everything went right, we've played without direction. I'm afraid that comes down to the coach.
Anyway just a note to say keep it up, it's nice to see a supporter from somewhere other than Melbourne and if you're prepared to stick with us for the long haul we may reward your with some glory in the future, just don't expect it this season.
Chris Greenway.
GO TIGERS!!
Regards
Jeremy King
Hi Becky,
Great to see you're a Tigers fan.
Don't lose hope or faith, the Mighty Tiges will rise to the challenges ahead
of us this year. Richo will kick lots of goals and take my word for it,
Mark Chaffey (number 6) will win our Best and Fairest (MVP equiv.) this
year. He's a champ.
GO TIGES
Regards
Chris
Hi Becky,
My name is Jayne and I have just checked out your site in regards to
the Tigers. I receive newsletters from Richmond Football Club daily
and your site was recommended to check out. I have been a Richmond
supporter for the majority of my life - 31 years to be precise. I
absolutely love them and follow them no matter how badly we do. I
remember our last Grand Final win. It was so long ago but every year I
say that it will be our year. Last year looked so promising but too
many injuries ruined our chances. Let's hope that this year is better
and we can at least finish in the top 8. I think we all need to get
behind our players and also our great coach, Danny "Spud" Frawley.
It is great to see that an American has warmed to our great game, but
even better to see that you are a Tigers fanatic. I have bookmarked
your site to check out in great detail when I have some more time.
"In Victory We Strive, Let's Eat 'Em Alive"
Kind regards,
Jayne Cole
Hi Becky
Saw your web page via Richmond site, what is a "relatively"
normal looking girl like you doing barracking for us Tigers, you
must be a masochist.
