Richmond Football -- Round 17!

If you've been with me this long, you already know that I'm no footy expert! If you're new to my site, the disclaimer is at the bottom of the page! Please read it so you know where I'm coming from!! Richmond 24.11.155 - Western Bulldogs 14.11.95

I finally get to tell you that WE WON!!!!!!!!!!! HOORAY!!! It feels good, even if it was "only" against the Bulldogs who are struggling this season as well. It especially feels good after the controversy in the club this week. A letter that was supposed to remain within the organization made its way to the press, causing mass speculation about internal politics and the safety of Danny Frawley's position as coach. I just hate it when stuff like that happens. It's no good for anyone. I will say that I admire Danny Frawley for the way he handled the situation with the press. He's focused on his job even though it must be very difficult at a time like this.

I didn't get to listen to the game again because it was a middle-of-the-night game for those of us in the US, but it was sure a nice surprise to wake up and see that we'd finally managed a win!

I'll let Pelic tell the story, as I love his enthusiasm! (I'm not so sure about his relationship with his computer, however! hee hee!)

From Pelic:
Hey Becky,

What a win. We finally snapped the losing streak in fine form. And what about Dutchy and McGrath. Dutchy with six goals straight and McGrath on debut with five goals one. I was jumping with joy at my computer, kissing the monitor and dancing with the keyboard. I had almost forgotten how good it was to win a game. Even though our finals hopes are gone, it is still great to win. After all the midweek turmoils, the Tigers still pulled through and slaughtered the opposition. And what made the night even better was that Brisbane lost by a point. Best weekend in a long shot.

Hope you have as good a week as I am set for,
Pelic
