Richmond Football -- Round 13!

Richmond 9.7.61 - Brisbane 15.14.104

In the words of Coach Danny Frawley: "At the start of the game we played some good attacking football then our intensity levels dropped off and we made the wrong decision at times which allowed them to gain some confidence."

I don't know about you, but that doesn't quite cut it for an explanation for me. Of course Frawley went on to analyze the game in more detail, but it seems like each week we're hearing excuses and not learning from them. It's frustrating indeed.

I didn't get to hear this game live again because it came in the middle of my night. Just as well. I don't think I'd have been impressed. I have to say that it's more than a bit disappointing given our winning streak earlier in the season. I was SO optimistic, despite warnings to stay level-headed about our success to that point in time. Wasn't it fun riding that wave of winning?!

Some people say we can pick up our game and finish the season looking respectable. I think it's less than likely. In any case, I intend to continue to barrack for my boys in Yellow and Black and hope they find a way to lift the game for the sake of the fans in the next few weeks! GO YOU TIGES!!!

From Pelic:
Gday Becky,
I just got your reply from my email so I thought I'd write back about what happened on Wednesday. It was absolute heaven. I went to watch the Tigers train at Glasshouse Oval and I got to talk to a few of the guys afterwards. I also got the very prizes signatures - Mark Couglan, Kane Johnson, Chris Hyde, Andrew Krakour, Andrew Kellaway, Clinton King, Leon Cameron, Tim Fleming, Greg Tivendale, Adam Houlihan, Kayne Pettifer, David Rodan, Ben Holland, Mark Chaffey, Aaron Fiora, Royce Vardy, Marc Dragasevic, Matthew Richardson, Wayne Cambell, Joel Bowden, Craig Biddiscombe, Brad Ottens and the great Greg Stafford. Wednesday was officially the greatest day of my life to date. Tomorrow, I will go and see them play Brisbane. Draga is back and so is Holland. I actually found that out by Ben Holland himself. I asked him if he was playing this weekend and thats when he told me. We had a small chat then he had to sign some more autographs. It was AMAZING. My heart was racing so fast.

Leaving you now I shall say one thing
GO THE TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!

From Chris Greenway:
I thought we were shot when Gas went down and then when Carlton beat us. Yes, I think we have to accept that we have wasted yet another season. Silvagni said that if we'd stick to the game plan and and play as a team we'd be a good side.

However we unfortunately barrack for the dumbest side in the comp, the current list will never learn and for that reason it will be many many years, if ever that we make the finals again. However despite the result there were at least 2 good things. Dragocevic and Holland made impressive returns from severe injuries. What we now have to do is think about next year and look at what we're doing wrong and rectify it. The whole bloody club needs a good shake up and we should start planning for the future, recruit young talent, make sure that they have a brain between them and who cares if it takes 2 - 3 years to develop, let's sit down the bottom of the ladder for a few years and then storm up it, ala freo and the other interstaters this year. Anyway that's the dream, but it'll never happen. Oh for a decent administrator and coach.
