Richmond V Carlton
Practice Match
By Chris Greenway

A better day, almost perfect football weather, a decent ground, a traditional rival and a near full strength side saw the Tigers face off against Carlton. Straight kicking, a definite game plan and the presence of our regular stars saw the Tigers get a 5 goal plus win against the Blues. Bare in mind this was a meaningless practice match against the side that finished bottom of the ladder last season, but a win is a win and it is our first one of the season. David Rodan did play, did some nice things, kicked a goal and was named among Richmond's best players. It's often hard to follow up a good debut season with improvement or even as good a season in your second year, but I think that D-Rod may be one of those rare players that can do just that.
