Richmond 1.7.6.57 - St. Kilda 2.15.11.119
Grumble, grumble, grumble. Not only did we lose, we didn't even put up a good performance. That's the part that hurts.

Again, I didn't get to listen to the game live because Internet audio doesn't work until the premiership season but from all accounts I've read, we just didn't perform. We have no one to blame but ourselves.

In addition to that, Tony Jewell, former Tiger board member and a Legend of the Richmond Tigers, spoke out harshly against Coach Frawley and the players in the media this week. That hurt! It stirred up a whole lot of controversy that's not likely to dissipate any time soon. If the Tigers want to rise above this, they need to win. Nothing short of victory will make this go away.

Comments? I'd love to hear them!

Subject: What happened?

Hey Becky,

What on earth happened to the Tigers? That was a bloody disgraceful performance. How many times can one team turn the ball over in a game? I was so dissapointed with that. I had to stay up till past midnight to watch it in Queensland and it certainly wasn't worth the struggle. If there was anything to take out of the game that was possitive, it was the form of Brad Ottens. I am also going to give Richo a huge wrap as well cause even though he kicked like someone who had a few too many drinks, he played rather well. There was one five minute period in the game where I think he took about three marks inside fifty. I have been rather critical of Richo in the last few years but I hope he proves me wrong, and proves me wrong bad! On Paper, this should've been a close game but once again the Saints have blown us out of the water and out of contention for the Wizard Cup. I know it is only the Preseason but I still don't like to see Richmond lose and put in a dodgy effort. For the Second game in a row Ray Hall was outclassed and I am not sure what Frawley is thinking about having him anywhere near the backline. He is a Ruckman and I think he would make a damn fine forward as he gave us a glimmer of his prowess as a full forward in R22 2002 against Sydney. By memory he kicked four goals straight. Come to think of it the whole Richmond backline seemed to have fallen apart right from the start. Kellaway and Chaffey didn't seem to have very good games at all. Chaffey got goose of the week with a shocking kick that set up a goal for the Saints. Even Richos miss from fifteen out wasn't as bad cause I was half expecting him to miss it. Someone really needs to show Richo how to kick. He should've had about six or seven goals last game but ended up with figures of 3 goals 2. What on earth is Ben Marsh doing as well, I haven't seen him yet and Stafford isn't doing that well either. I certainly hope they can improve. Kayne Pettifer showed a glimpse of what he can do in the past two games and I hope that he can continue as well.

Richmond is up against Brisbane in Coopooroo this weekend so I hop that they can put these Queenslanders in the place.

Subject: Round 2 preseason

Hi Becky,

I don't pay a lot of attention to preseason form, but last night was just completely ordinary. We had about 3 good players and the rest may as well have not bothered turning up. I won't blame Richo or Gas, because both were just having a run to make sure that they'll be ready for the real stuff in a few weeks. I can't believe our turnover rate, yes, I know it's preseason, but the ones that couldn't kick last year haven't improved and now the ones that were good at disposal by foot have caught the disease and it looks like there are about 15 Duncan Kellaway's running around out there! It makes you wonder exactly what Frawley was doing during the preseason. Yet another reason, along with his obssession with playing EVERY player in defence, whether they are suited for it or not, that he HAS to go. As long as that man is coaching this side they will not make the eight.

Anyway that was pretty much it. One to file and forget.

Seeya Chris.
