At least we have a victory to talk about this week! FINALLY! HOORAY!!! A one point win is still a win! Chaffey played again this week, which is not to be taken for granted given that some other senior players didn't make the squad. The fans and media were calling for drastic changes, not to mention Frawley's head! Chaffey's position was solid from everything I read leading up to the game. Chaffey goaled in this week's game, putting the Hawks down by 18 points. Despite the goal, he had his hot and cold moments on the field.
01 May 2004 Herald Sun Mark Robinson The Tigers would be rapt with Chris Hyde, Tim Fleming, Luke Weller and Ottens. And Mark Chaffey and Rory Hilton early. Skipper Wayne Campbell, who like Crawford played back all night, was instrumental. Like Crawford, he never gave up, and when he walked from the field, you could tell he had left nothing on it.
On a sidenote, good on the boys for their charity work. I'm always proud to see the players involved in off-field opportunities for the good of others.
