We're on to something!! Dilfer's success last week wasn't a fluke, he can make things happen! As much as I love Ricky Watters, and I do, welcome to the Seahawks Shaun Alexander! 142 yards on 33 runs! WOW! These last two weeks have been exciting ones and I daresay I've got my optimism back!!! I don't recall seeing the team this fired up in a long time! Defense was hot! Offense made things happen! They played with emotion and desire! THIS is what football's all about! I feel for the fans whose seats sat empty at Husky Stadium. You missed a good one! I don't think there's any question that if we want to win games, we need to have Dilfer in the game. Again, that's not to slam Hasselbeck, it's simply to acknowledge Dilfer's experience. We know that Holmgren believed in Shaun Alexander even as he left him on the sidelines while Ricky Watters had the starting position and I think Shaun learned a lot from Ricky's mentoring. I think Hasselbeck can develop in much the same way from observing and learning from Dilfer, but I think if we're to continue the winning streak, it's got to be under Dilfer's leadership rather than Hasselbeck's. That's just my two cents worth. Reggie Tongue has raised some questions in my mind in the past, but I liked what I saw from him today. Who wouldn't with two interceptions?!? There were a couple of plays that went his way where he was a little loose in coverage but he also made some tremendous plays! If I saw that every week you better believe I'd be on the Tongue bandwagon! It was terrific to see Shawn Springs get that interception today too! He seems to have recovered nicely from his injury and it appeared today that he was having fun! Gotta love that! Engram did a great job of returning kicks, however I'm a little nervous about seeing him in on special teams. I think we're weak enough at WR that we need to protect him somewhat. He's made some clutch receptions for us this season and I'd sure hate to lose him to injury on a special teams play. I know that Charlie Rogers didn't have the greatest week last week but we KNOW he's good at his position, and I'm hoping he'll be out of Holmgren's doghouse soon. Was that blocked field goal by Bannister exciting or what?!?! Good for Pete Rodriguez and his special teams unit!!! We'll take quick and easy points, oh yeah!! On a quirky note, what did you think of Denver's orange shoes? GAG!!! There are a lot of reasons not to like the Broncos and that's one more!! :-) We've got a bye week next week; a chance for both of our QBs to rest their groin injuries. Should be an interesting game coming up next!
