"Goodness gracious, we make it interesting." -- coach Mike Holmgren
"And Bobby is definitely the leader of the pack. He's one of those studious guys who knows what's going on. He prepares just like a quarterback." -- Matt Hasselbeck, on Bobby Engram
"He [Bobby Engram] and Mack Strong really hold this team together. I know he holds the receivers together with his veteran leadership. He keeps us calm, talks to us and expresses things about coverages and defensive backs and stuff like that. He's played in this conference a long time and knows more things than we know. He is our unsung hero among the wide receivers, that's for sure.'' -- Darrell Jackson, on Bobby Engram
"There was a little extra incentive there, I'm not going to lie.'' -- Bobby Engram, on playing his former team, the Chicago Bears
"We knew it was going to be tough. We had to be careful. We didn't want to take them lightly. They get paid just like we do." -- corner Willie Williams
"I had a coach at Alabama who told me, 'If you don't think a win's big, try losing.' I've always remembered that." -- RB Shaun Alexander

Week 7: Seattle 24 - Chicago 17
They did it to us again! They kept us hanging on the edge of our chair till the very end of the game!
We started a little slow, picked it right up and I thought we were on our way to the promised rout! Then things fell apart and I was afraid we were going to give the game away, but somehow we lifted the game and stayed right in it! THAT ... is something we haven't always seen from our Seahawks! WOOOOO HOOOOO!!! Awesome job, Seahawks!!
It's Great To Just Relax.

Feels so good to just sit back and enjoy
a no stress cakewalk type of game. Munch'n on the Chicago pizza and cotton candy for desert. Life is good. Back to
more fun (pitch and catch) in the 2nd half.
GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!

We still need to be careful of the mistakes. Personal Fouls, Throwing interceptions. We should be killing this team, instead we're just barely ahead. Come on 'Hawks! Kill 'em good!
5-1!!! Take'n Care of Business!

The game was never in doubt; but I'll give the Bears credit for scrapping all the way in a road game having numerous injuries. It was good to not to have another nail-biter. I also thought they did a fine job of addressing their previous problems with the foolish penalty calls. Now it's on to Cincinnati
and just taking care a some more business
in a road game. It's a great ride...Five and One, with more fun to come!!!
I see a trend....

After one close win, you celebrate....
After two, you begin to believe...
Now, after three, I think this team's winning has become habit forming for them... They simply KNOW that they will win...
THAT is what championship football is about...
I know, I know... They should have KILLED these guys... Well, it was less than a year ago that we would have wanted them to JUST WIN...
I am still just wanting a win. 50-0 or 20-19 looks the same way in the NFL. Both are wins...
Are there things to work on? Sure. But perhaps more than anything else is the need to develop that MENTALITY that you WILL win, no matter stands in your way.
They seem to be doing JUST fine in that department...
5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!5-1!!!
MOSES PREDICTS GAME....uh.... SIX!!!!!
Posted by MOSES on 10/16/2003, 7:02 pm
HAIL TO THEE, O SEAHAWK FANS!!!!! IT IS I, MOSES, HERE TO PREDICT THE SEAHAWK/em-bear-assment GAME!!!!!!
LAST WEEK: (NOTE: MOSES realizes he put the wrong game number in last week’s edition… Why did it happen? Who knows? Shall we move on?)
Call it ugly, call it lucky…. I CALL IT A WIN!!! WE ARE 4-1!!!!!
This week (which I KNOW is game… SIX!) our Seahawks prepare to face the Chicago Bears who so far this year have been…
An em-BEAR-assment…
Un-BEAR-able to watch…
And the BAD NEWS BEARS!!!
( ring…..ring…..Walter Matthau ??? Walter Matthau ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)
The Bears thought they had GOOD NEWS when they learned in the off season from some teenage stoner guy that…
“DUDE! YOU GOT A DELL!”
….as in KOR-dell Stewart to lead their struggling offense.
BUT……..
Kordell as been about as effective as a COMMODORE 64 this year running an offensive program that has been TRULY offensive…
( ring…..ring….. Bill Gates ??? Bill Gates ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)
BUT……..
This week, Chris Chandler takes over the offense, and like the OTHER “Chandler” on that TV show, he will hope a supporting cast of FRIENDS can carry him along.
Actually, THIS Chandler can be summed up by that OTHER Chandler from Friends:
“Could I… BE MORE injury prone?”
“Can I… HAVE A WORSE offensive line in front of me?”
“Can I EVER… stop that ringing in my head?”
( ring…..ring….. Matthew Perry ??? Matthew Perry ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)
Chandler will be without the A-train, Anthony Thomas in his backfield, who apparently has been DERAILED with a bad wheel… I mean, a bad FOOT…
BUT……
Life has not been all bad for the Bear fans. They don’t have a 2+ hour commute to home games any more! The new and improved Soldier Field opened for business this year, and it has some nice new features…. Especially the new concession stands! What kind of features do the new concession stands have, I hear you ask? Well, I am so glad you asked… Because THAT is this week’s TOP THREE list topic!!
So, here from our office in CHICAGO, ILLINOIS comes……….. (drum roll)….
“THE TOP THREE NEW MENU ITEMS FOUND AT THE REBUILT SOLDIER STADIUM CONCESSION STANDS”
3. The “DAN HAMPTON” and cheese sandwich.
2. The “GEORGE HALAS” salad.
1. The…uh. DICK BUTKUS sandwich.. I will let YOU figure out what THAT’S made out of!
Food aside, this week has the making of a real blowout for the Seahawks, who stand all alone on top of the NFC West thanks to some well timed mistakes and ball bounces.
But lucky or not, 4-1 is not a record you get by just showing up! This Seahawk team is full of offensive power and defensive attitude that spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E for the opposition!
( ring…..ring…..TRAVIS TRITT??? TRAVIS TRITT??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)
But this is the NFL…and if the Seahawks aren’t careful, they could wind up being BEAR-rated this week! Yes, this week, the Seahawks better CARE.. about the BEARS!
( ring…..ring….. GRUMPY BEAR??? GRUMPY BEAR ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)
THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR the em-bear-assments
1. BRIAN URLACHER: Pssst….Brian… It’s not the REFS who suck!
2. CHRIS CHANDLER: Often broken, how long will he stay healthy this week?
3. PHILLIP DANIELS: Welcome back to Seattle, Phillip. Things have changed a bit since you’ve been back!
THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR THE SEAHAWKS:
1. SHAUN ALEXANDER: Great runner vs. horrible run defense equals LOTS OF CARRIES.
2. SHAWN SPRINGS: Will those Springs be “rusty” after being off for so long?
3. KOREN ROBINSON: ON PAPER, no Bear will be able to contain him.
SO, CAN THEY DO IT?????
MOSES PREDICTS:
SEAHAWKS 37
Chicago em-bear-assments 16
SO LET IT BE WRITTEN, SO LET IT BE DONE!!!!!
MOSES

Our appreciation of 500+ players and coaches who got us this far!
The other side
"I thought Chris played a good football game -- a strong football game. He was in control. He knows what's going on out there. He put some balls in tight spots. I wish he didn't throw the last one, obviously. I wish we would have kept that drive alive.'' -- Bears coach Dick Jauron
"At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. We had some chances to make some plays and we did. We had chances to make some plays and we didn't. The bottom line is they had more points than we did.'' -- Bears QB Chris Chandler
