"They wanted to show their appreciation and their love for me when I caught the ball. It felt good. It made my emotions run high and it got my confidence back up. I appreciated the love the crowd gave me, so I just gave a little love back.'' -- Darrell Jackson on his first completion after a couple of dropped balls
"The crowd got behind him and realized what he's going through. I saw that lift him up. And that's the homefield advantage. People can say what they want, but that right there made a difference in the day Darrell had.'' -- Center Robbie Tobeck
"I missed some blocks in the first half that I'm ticked about and I'll think about all night. Everybody does'' -- Center Robbie Tobeck
"Same old, same old." -- Coach Mike Holmgren
"I remember my Steeler years very fondly. But at the same time, I am a Seahawk, and it is my job to go out there and kick their butt." -- Chad Brown, former Steeler, current SEAHAWK!!!
"We're winning, and we still haven't played our best ball yet." -- CB Marcus Trufant
"He plays the game the way the game should be played." -- Mike Holmgren, referring to Chad Brown

Week 9: Seattle 23 - Pittsburgh 16
They did it to us again! They gave us a thriller!
The first three quarters of play were SO slow! We kept dropping passes, we'd have big plays only to end up with a field goal, and DirecTV kept switching the feed in the middle of the game! What was up with that?!?! One minute it was Seahawks football, the next it was Cardinals football! Aaaauuuggghhh!
Then all of the sudden Darrell Jackson caught a pass, did a bit of showboating (and didn't I love that!) and the game picked up! It was like going from black and white to full color! From that point on it was a thrill to the end! I'm telling you, we're getting our money's worth from the team this season!!!
Whooo-Hooo!!! 6-2!!!!!!

Another of these nail-biters; but we did it! WR Jackson got the message and stepped up like a pro! WR Robinson also stepped it up the 2nd half. OLB Chad Brown played like a man possessed! 6-2,
and FIRST place at the half-way point.
How sweet it is!! Come along for the ride!!!
GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!

MOSES PREDICTS GAME EIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted by MOSES on 10/30/2003, 1:38 pm
HAIL TO THEE, O SEAHAWK FANS!!!!! IT IS I, MOSES, HERE TO PREDICT THE SEAHAWK/steeless GAME!!!!!!
LAST WEEK: Turnovers, dropped balls…
Did we time travel back to 2002? We are 5-2…
Well, it was a painful trip into the jungle last Sunday as Moses and a few rowdy Seahawk fans experienced first hand the growing pains of a young team underestimating an opponent on the road.
But do not cry for me, Argentina (or anyone else). I got by with a little help from my friends.
( ring…..ring….. Ringo Starr ??? Ringo Starr ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)
The Seahawks apparently were confusing Halloween with Christmas as they gave the Bengals a lot of early presents in the form of turnovers and dropped passes.
( ring…..ring….. Santa Claus ??? Santa Claus ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)
The Seahawks hope to shake off the “giving spirit” this week with a return home to face the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers have looked less like men of steel and more like Clark Kent recently, losing four in a row. They stumble into Seahawk Stadium with an uncharacteristic 2-5 record, and the average losing margin of those five losses is a whopping 17 points per loss.
Apparently, these guys are not the kind that enjoy a good nail biter like some team we all know…. (pause for obvious look into a mirror)…
BUT……..
The Steelers are still a team to be reckoned with. Defensively, the still might have the best four linebackers on one team. The “Steel Curtain” defense ranks in the top 5 in the NFL with only giving up a poultry 272.4 yards a game. And it seems that Bill Cowher was hoping that he could get his offense back to prominence by “GETTING ON THE BUS”
( ring…..ring….. Spike Lee ??? Spike Lee ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)
Yes, Jerome Bettis was inserted into a starting lineup last week…. And rushed for 42 yards. Apparently, “the Bus” is in need of a bit of a tune up…
( ring…..ring….. Jiffy Lube ??? Jiffy Lube ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is home to a different type of football fan. Most of the Steeler fans are hard working steel workers in Pennsylvania that know what it takes to work hard.
Which brings us to this week’s top three. It seems that blue collar factory working people NEVER get the type of respect they deserve. And, since this week the Seahawks are playing the team from the area of the country where factory work is a way of life, I thought we would take a moment to salute THE FACTORY WORKERS!
So, here from our office in HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA comes……….. (drum roll)….
“THE TOP THREE MOMENTS IN TV AND MOVIE FACTORIES”
3. EMINEM AND BRITTANY MURPHY IN 8 MILE:
(Then again, what factory worker HASN’T made it with Brittany Murphy during their lunch hour?)
2. MARGE AND HOMER SIMPSON PARODY SCENE FROM “AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN”:
(“Tell Mr. Burns that I am going to the back seat of my car with the woman I love…. And I won’t be back for TEN MINUTES!!” )
1.JENNIFER BEALS IN FLASHDANCE:
(What feeling! Those shoulder revealing sweaters. Those leggings. That….Welding mask?)
THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR the steel-less
1. JOEY PORTER: He will shoot… oops… I mean, KICK your butt!
2. JEROME BETTIS: Will the bus run the route to victory?
3. HINES WARD: No jokes here. This guy is a MANIAC!
THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR THE SEAHAWKS:
1. MATT HASSELBECK: Can he KEEP the 340+ yards from last week but LOSE the INT’s?
2. CHAD BROWN: Sorely missed last week. Will he take it out on his old team?
3. DARRELL JACKSON: Rough game last week. Will DJACK bounce back?
SO, CAN THEY DO IT?????
MOSES PREDICTS:
SEAHAWKS 34
Pittsburgh Steel-less 13
SO LET IT BE WRITTEN, SO LET IT BE DONE!!!!!
MOSES

Our appreciation of 500+ players and coaches who got us this far!
The other side
"I'm not going to talk about the refs." -- Hines Ward, Steelers WR
"I get up and spike the ball and I don't even have a clue where the guy was at. That's just emotion. I wasn't thinking about No. 21 (Lucas). If I'm going to throw the ball at him, I'm going to at least hit him." -- Hines Ward, Steelers WR
"We're finding a way to lose in the fourth quarter. Instead of finding a way to win, we're finding a way to lose. Even though we came back and scored and stopped them later, we were supposed to stop them on that drive." -- LB Joey Porter
"At points where we have to make a stand, we haven't been able to do it to get over the hump. We continue to fall short." -- Steelers Coach Bill Cowher
