"He does that with me a lot during the game...he will tell me how they are playing their secondary. It's very helpful. Then Matt comes off and they talk and Trent gets Matt all excited. ... We had practiced it a lot and it worked exactly how it's supposed to, which also helps." -- Mike Holmgren, regarding Trent Dilfer's help on the sidelines

"He's so steady and such a good football player, you don't think about it. He's one of our key players. He is one of our big guns." -- Mike Holmgren on Bobby Engram

The only thing that matters are the guys in this locker room, the coaching staff, they know what I can do. They can't measure my heart. That's immeasurable." -- Bobby Engram

"I was proud of the way the team played today." -- Mike Holmgren

"There were a lot of bad things. Their plane breaks down, a dog comes up and bites the coach, a little girl punches (Lions quarterback) Joey (Harrington) in the stomach. Things were going well for us before the game even started." -- Shaun Alexander

I felt like we were in a rhythm. We were just calling all different kinds of plays." -- QB Matt Hasselbeck

"I think it's always good to establish some comeback games, but I think a win like this is really nice." -- RB Shaun Alexander

    Week 11:
    Seattle 35 - Detroit 14

Ahhhh, this one was the Seahawks' all the way! We made some mistakes handling the ball due to the rain and wind but despite those errors, our lead was never in question. And wasn't it great to see Darrell Jackson having a successful day! 7-3! What a year to be a Seahawks fan!!!

    The game was awesome!

My first game at Seahawks Stadium was absolutely outstanding! I had a great time. I met up with some relatives in Auburn & we took the Sounder train to the Stadium. I highly recommend the train. It's only 6 bucks for the round trip, you don't have to drive & it drops you off practically right next to the stadium.

It was raining heavily when we walked into the stadium, but it only rained into the 1st quarter. I finally got to wear my Seahawks parka!

It was so great to be in a place with so many Seahawks fans. I was in total heaven! There were a lot of Joey Harrington fans up from Eugene, as I was with some. They were all good natured & nobody gave them a hard time or them us. There were also some sporadic die hard Lions fans (don't ask me why), but they were there wearing their jerseys. Good fans with good attitudes.

I'm glad I got to see a good game. I wish there had been some more scoring in the 2nd half, but I was pleased with our defense in the 2nd half. I would like to see some better pass rush from our guys though.

The stadium is awesome, we had 40 yard line seats up on the 300 level. We were up high, but could still see the jersey numbers. With the binoculars I could see really close into the huddle & watch the snap of the ball. The crowd really got into the game & it was very enjoyable. The people I was with left with about 8:00 minutes left in the game, to go get a seat on the train. I stayed until the final whistle.

I took some pics & I'll send some to you Becky & maybe you can post some if you want. I need to get them developed first.

All in all, a very great game & a very good time. I'm hooked now, & am going to need to go at least once every year. It's about a 7 hour drive from here, so it helps to take the Monday off after the game.

Now let's go kick some Raven butt!

    MOSES PREDICTS GAME TEN!!!!!
Posted by MOSES on 11/13/2003, 5:26 pm

HAIL TO THEE, O SEAHAWK FANS!!!!! IT IS I, MOSES, HERE TO PREDICT THE SEAHAWK/kitty cat GAME!!!!!!
LAST WEEK: Love the home cookin’! HATE the hotel room service…. We are 6-3…

Before I begin this week, I need to know the status of all Seahawk fans out there….
    …Blood pressure medicine refilled?……
…… Doctor’s number on speed dial on the phone next to you during the games?….

    Good…. Then let us proceed…..

The Seahawks limp home after giving another undeserving NFL home team an early Christmas present last week in our nation’s capital (and I REFUSE to page Santa AGAIN to the white courtesy phone!!!)

    BUT…..

The football gods are rewarding the Seahawks generosity this week as the Seahawks return home this week to play host to the NFC perennial doormats known as the Detroit Lions.

These Lions have been anything BUT the “king of Beasts” in the NFL jungle the last few seasons…more like “Cowardly Lions” looking for some badly needed courage!

( ring…..ring…..Wizard of Oz ??? Wizard of Oz ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)

Their defense is 21st in the league… AND IT’S THE BEST PART!!!

Their offense is 30th overall… Especially DISGUSTING is their run offense that places DEAD LAST in the NFL. Their running attack is SO BAD that SHAUN ALEXANDER has more yards rushing than the ENTIRE DETROIT LION TEAM!!!

( ring…..ring….. Barry Sanders ??? Barry Sanders ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)

This team’s offense has more of a resemblance to “Josie and the Pussycats” instead of an NFL team…And the play of the Detroit Loins has indeed resembled ANOTHER famous fat and lazy cat….

( ring…..ring….. Garfield ??? Garfield ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)

    BUT……..

This team DOES have bright spots. Steve Mariucci, who was UNJUSTLY let go in San Francisco has landed in Detroit to try and resurrect a lifeless franchise. He has one of the better young guns at quarterback in former Oregon Duck Joey Harrington to groom into a Pro Bowl quarterback.

( ring…..ring….. Jeff Garcia ??? Jeff Garcia ??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)

You know, Detroit is the birthplace of one of the most famous and successful music labels of all time. I refer, of course, to Motown and the HOME of the “sound of the 60’s.” In fact, Hugh Millen is searching for an old Motown hit to motivate the crowd at the new Ford Field. But what song should he pick?

Well, relax Hugh buddy. Moses is here to help. So, here from our office in DETROIT, MICHIGAN comes……….. (drum roll)….

“THE TOP THREE MOTOWN SONGS USED TO REPRESENT THE 2003 LION FOOTBALL SEASON”
    3. “TRACKS OF MY TEARS” (Smokey Robinson & The Miracles): and it will TAKE “miracles” to change this franchise around!
    2. “WHAT’S GOIN’ ON” (Marvin Gaye): A personal favorite of Steve Mariucci when he watches his team on the field.
    1. “IT’S THE SAME OLD SONG”( The Four Tops): Sung by Lion fans EVERYWHERE!

THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR the kitty kats
    1. JOEY HARRINGTON: Back in the northwest and looking to impress the home crowd!
    2. JASON HANSON: SO how bad is it when your KICKER is a “marquee player”?
    3. DOUG EVANS: Welcome back, Doug….uh, wrong shade of blue on your uniform there, pal!

THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR THE SEAHAWKS:
    1. SHAUN ALEXANDER: Gotta look forward to feasting on THIS run defense!
    2. DARRELL JACKSON: D-Jack, or D-Drop? You decide!
    3. SHAWN SPRINGS: Pro Bowl corner or Flash in the Pan has-been?

    SO, CAN THEY DO IT?????

    MOSES PREDICTS:

    SEAHAWKS 34
    Detroit kitty kats 13

SO LET IT BE WRITTEN, SO LET IT BE DONE!!!!!

    MOSES

HEY MOSES!!!!! WHAT'S FOR DINNER FOR GAME TEN?????
Posted by MOSES on 11/13/2003, 5:27 pm
