Almost Hall of Fame

"The other part of that is our fans. After a couple years here they were kind of mad at me, but I kind of gathered them in." -- Coach Mike Holmgren

"I thought we had good quickness on defense, and the defensive line was excellent." -- Coach Mike Holmgren

"I thought our attitude was right in the locker room before the game, and I thought we came out and played really well. We had an opportunity to really put the game away, and we didn’t, but at least going into the game, our mindset was pretty good." -- QB Matt Hasselbeck

"I told him that one was for Trevin and that was real special. The preseason touchdown was very special, and this one was probably more so because it’s a regular season game and it finished the game for us. That was what I was thinking about." -- Back-up QB Trent Dilfer, referring to his touchdown pass to Bobby Engram

"My grandma told me when I was a little kid that kids can fight, but if you’re going to be in your own back yard you better be able to win. Since she came into town yesterday for the holidays I thought we better win." -- Shaun Alexander, on going 8-0 at home this season

    Week 16:
    Arizona 10 - Seattle 28

OK, so I admit it, I didn't get to see the game. BUT...I had a terrific time at my sister's house in northeast Kansas celebrating Christmas with my side of the family! My gift, in addition to a Seahawks victory, was a Barbie doll wearing Seahawks clothes so hey! Life is definitely good!

    MOSES PREDICTS GAME FIFTEEN!!!!
Posted by MOSES on 12/18/2003, 6:55 pm

HAIL TO THEE, O SEAHAWK FANS!!!!! IT IS I, MOSES, HERE TO PREDICT THE SEAHAWK/ car-di-Nos GAME!!!!!!

LAST WEEK: ONCE AGAIN, that address to write to YET AGAIN is:

Mike Pereira, Director of NFL Officials
    C/O NFL Officiating
    280 Park Avenue
    New York, NY 10017

    We are 8-6….

Ho-ho-ho, and happy holidays to all of my fellow Seahawk faithful. And as “Seahawk Claus” makes his list and checks it twice, it looks like we will indeed find out if the Seahawks were naughty or nice this year over the course of the next two weeks.

    BUT……..

After finding a lump of coal in Minnesota, the Seahawks return home to find that “Seahawk Claus” has left them a present under their scheduling tree.

Yes, not to worry. The team to cure all the NFL losing ills has come to Seattle. The Arizona Cardinals, also known in the NFL as the “Dr. Feelgoods” for curing your team’s problems, fly into Seahawk Stadium this week.

(ring…..ring…..Motley Crue ??? Motley Crue??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)

The Arizona Cardinals are once again “just playing out the season” after…uh.. NOVEMBER? They bring in their 26th ranked offense AS WELL AS their 26th ranked defense…

Let it never be said that the Cardinals are not CONSISENT!

This team is SO BAD that it has caused me to come up with a NEW FEATURE called…

“TAKE A CRACK AT THIS PHRASE!!!!”

This week, I take my cracks at this phrase:

”THE ARIZONA CARDINALS ARE SO BAD”
    …here we go!!!

THE ARIZONA CARDINALS ARE SO BAD…. They have replaced the National Anthem at home games with the playing of the 1970’s ballad “Feelings”.

THE ARIZONA CARDINALS ARE SO BAD…They have to burn a timeout before the coin flip.

THE ARIZONA CARDINALS ARE SO BAD….During home games the home scoreboard shows the scores to ALL THE GAMES…. Except the one the Cardinals are playing in.

THE ARIZONA CARDINALS ARE SO BAD… Their team motto is “please don’t hurt us.”

THE ARIZONA CARDINALS ARE SO BAD… They stopped having Little League football play at halftime because the fans kept confusing them with the Cardinals.

    BUT……..

Promise showed up in the desert last week, as the Cardinals played pretty “not bad” in taking the division leading Carolina Panthers to overtime before…well, it IS the cardinals, after all.

Speaking of “Cards”, a big MOSES salute for the men and women of the armed services who captured the “Top Card” in the deck of Iraqi Most Wanted cards, the ACE OF SPADES, Saddam Hussein! I am not sure what kind of Poker hand that now gives the US Armed Forces, but I sure would not want to bet AGAINST THEM !!!

(ring…..ring….. Pete Rose??? Pete Rose??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)

    BUT……..I digress…..

This is a bit of a “Christmas” themed edition this week, so I thought I would research the Christmas traditions from around the NFL. And seeing as we are playing the Arizona Cardinals, it seemed only fitting to look in the desert for some little known Christmas traditions to us…

So, here from our office FROM THE ARIZONA DESERT comes……….. (drum roll)….

“THE TOP THREE ARIZONA CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS ”
    3. FROSTY THE SNOWMAN IS MADE WITH MASHED POTATOES
    2. SANTA CRUISES IN FROM THE DESERT ON A COYOTE PULLED SLED WEARING A RED AND WHITE SPEEDO.
    1. SANTA HANDS OUT SYMPATHY CARDS TO ALL LOCAL CARDINAL FANS.

THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR the car-din-NOS
    1. ANQUAN BOLDIN: If they can keep him from hanging out with Terrell Owens, they have a real WINNER here!
    2. JOSH McCOWN: That hefty 55.0 QB rating will strike fear into SOMEONE…maybe.
    3. MARCEL SHIP: We made him look like an MVP last year.

THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR THE SEAHAWKS:
    1. MATT HASSELBECK: When there is a leader wanted, the quarterback should apply.
    2. KEN HAMLIN: He “introduced” himself to the Cards last time. But now, they know him.
    3. DARRELL JACKSON: Big game first go around.

WILL SEAHAWK CLAUS DELIVER A NICE PRESENT THIS WEEK, OR WILL IT BE ANOTHER LUMP OF COAL UNDER THE PLAYOFF TREE FOR THE SEAHAWKS???

    SO, CAN THEY DO IT?????

    MOSES PREDICTS:
    SEAHAWKS 37
    Ari-ZONE OUT car-di-NOS 13

SO LET IT BE WRITTEN, SO LET IT BE DONE!!!!!

    MOSES

HEY MOSES!!!!! WHAT'S FOR DINNER FOR GAME FIFTEEN?????

Now it's your turn! Send me your thoughts on the game and I'll post them right here!

Our appreciation of 500+ players and coaches who got us this far!

The other side

"We had so many opportunities in that ball game, especially as ugly as it started out. We could not stop Seattle’s offense early on, and defensively we kept finding a way to not get the ball. But our red zone offense completely let us down." -- Coach Dave McGinnis
