"The effort was good, but what continues to plague us is the big play." -- Coach Mike Holmgren

"It was a great battle, but we have to play mistake free football to win." -- WR Darrell Jackson

"It came down to two series, one: we had penalties to keep their drive alive [3 for 25 yards in the Rams' first-quarter scoring drive]; two: they had an interception deep in our area and they scored on it. We really felt confident going into the game, but we got out and turned the ball over." -- Robbie Tobeck

"It's a tough loss." -- QB Matt Hasselbeck

"We wanted to win yesterday, but we didn't. We know we have to win out these two games to have a shot at the playoffs. That's going to make it fun." -- Tackle Walter Jones

    Week 15:
    Seattle 22 - St. Louis 27

Today we watched our playoff chances go down the drain. Technically I think we still have a prayer but it would be asking a lot.

The questionable play near the end of the game when the referee got tangled up with Bobby Engram as Bobby was near the goal line ready to snag the winning touchdown pass will always leave a bad taste in our mouths, along with the fumble caused by Chad Brown that was ruled an incomplete pass. The officiating was horrible today. Sour grapes? I don't think so. I'm just calling it as I see it.

On a personal note, I want to apologize to the MWSH for not being able to make the trip to St. Louis to watch our boys in action. I opted to attend our company Christmas party in which I received a [very sparkly!] service award for 20 years of employment. I also accepted an unrelated invitation to a ceremony Sunday morning in which I was nominated for a community service award for my volunteer efforts. While I missed the game (oh how!), there are occasionally other commitments worth making.

BUT LOOK FOR ME NEXT YEAR!!!!! GOOOO SEAHAWKS!!

NUTS!!!! BUT; I Am So PROUD Of Our Guys!!!

We fought'em hard. It was a good game, and I'm so proud of these players. They gave it all, despite the loss, I believe this young team might have come of age today. They played their hearts out. Good Job Men, and I'm proud to be a Seahawk fan!!
    GO SEAHAWKS!!!!!

    Damn refs
Posted by Kevin on 12/14/2003, 3:28 pm

Hell if you can't blow the game with a bad call just tackle our wide receiver before he gets a chance to catch the ball. Once again the refs cost Seattle a win.

People can say all they want about Seattle being responsible for losing that Baltimore game, but when it comes down to it the refs really did make the ultimate difference. They let the clock run 30 seconds longer like they're supposed to, the Ravens don't score. They don't tackle Bobby Engram he catches the ball for a TD. 8-6 should be 10-4.Thanks for the great officiating!

Oh yeah, I'm with you brother...

We've been shafted once again by the boys in pinstripes. I swear, I know the ref is considered part of the playing field but that was freakin' crap! I loved the "I didn't see it" call on Hasselbeck when whomever it was that mauled him and left him on the ground.. Way to go @#$%#@ refs...

However, that aside, we should've never been in that position anyway. How could we play so well against Baltimore, and so crappy against all of our other away games?

Once again we are going to be .500 or maybe a littel bit better. The ride may be exciting but we are ending up in the same location year after year.

    MOSES PREDICTS GAME FOURTEEN!!!!!
Posted by MOSES on 12/11/2003, 8:04 pm

HAIL TO THEE, O SEAHAWK FANS!!!!! IT IS I, MOSES, HERE TO PREDICT THE SEAHAWK/ lamb GAME!!!!!!

LAST WEEK: Would anyone like to sign my petition to get Paul Tagliabue to schedule 16 Seahawk HOME games next year? We are 8-5......

The Seahawks come off of a week in which they looked about as flat as warm beer and as energetic as a yawning festival.

    BUT……..

There SHOULD ( he says with a fair amount of certainty) be LITTLE CHANCE of not being up for the hated division rival and first place St. Louis Rams. I would THINK.... I guess....

Shoot, who knows with this team? The Seahawks have been more up and down this year than an elevator operator. One game, they look like they are ready for the Super Bowl, then they look like they should be FLUSHED down the TOILET BOWL, including last week’s STINKER!!!

(ring…..ring…..Pepe LePew??? Pepe LePew??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)

    BUT……..

Last week’s underwhelming performance was really only the SECOND time this year that the Seahawks were out of a game in the fourth quarter.

Everyone is WELL AWARE of the Seahawk road curse this year. Let's take a quick painful glance, shall we?

CINCINNATI: Hassselbeck suddenly CAN’T THROW OVER THE DEFENSIVE LINE!
WASHINGTON: The DROP at the 2 causes a MASSIVE break in the momentum dam.
BALTIMORE: The refs admit that they can’t tell time.

It’s like ROD SERLING is the Seahawk travel agent or something:

“The Seahawks are traveling through another dimension, a dimension not only of football, but of mind. A journey into a strange land whose boundaries are that of NFL imagination. Your next stop.... ‘The SEAHAWK TWILIGHT ZONE’”

    DO-DO-DO-DO.....DO-DO-DO-DO.....

So maybe the football gods will lift their curse this week?

(ring…..ring…..A witch doctor??? ANY witch doctor??? Please pick up the white courtesy phone….)

    BUT……..

Standing in the way of road redemption is the St. Louis Rams, who come into this game winning 9 out of their last 10. Bulger has settled in as starting quarterback, and they are healthy, they are peaking at the right time of year, and they are playing with a purpose. This week, their purpose is to clinch the division and make the Seahawks think Wild Card.

The last time we played.... oops... I mean BEAT the Rams, There was a bit of quarterback controversy going on in “the Gateway to the West”. But now, it seems that Coach Martz has settled on Marc Bulger, leaving former Safeway bagboy and NFL MVP Curt Warner left on the sideline holding a clipboard. My how the once mighty have fallen.

Ah, but do not cry for Curt. I KNOW that he has been keeping himself VERY BUSY on the sidelines. In fact, his sideline exploits are this week’s TOP THREE!

So, here from our office FROM THE ST. LOUIS RAMS SIDELINE comes……….. (drum roll)….

“THE TOP THREE WAYS CURT WARNER HAS BEEN PASSING THE TIME ON THE RAM SIDELINE THIS YEAR”
    3. USING SIDELINE PHONES FOR FRAUDULENT TELEMARKETING SCHEME.
    2. WATERBOY FOR THE RAM CHEERLEADERS.
    1. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PRESENTING THE NEW ST. LOUIS RAM MASCOT “RAMMIE THE RAM”!!!

THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR the lambs
    1. MARSHALL FAULK: He does it all. But only 2.0 ypc in Seattle last time!
    2. MARC BULGER: If he gets rattled, he gets sloppy.
    3. LEONARD LITTLE: You aren’t facing Matt Hill THIS TIME.

THREE PLAYERS TO WATCH FOR THE SEAHAWKS:
    1. CHRIS TERRY: Must keep Leonard Little to little activity.
    2. SHAWN SPRINGS: A possible audition for the rest of the NFL this week.
    3. JOHN RANDLE: Big players make big plays in big games, and he is an NFL legend.

    SO, CAN THEY DO IT?????

    MOSES PREDICTS:
    SEAHAWKS 31
    st. loser lambs 27

SO LET IT BE WRITTEN, SO LET IT BE DONE!!!!!

    MOSES

HEY MOSES!!!!! WHAT'S FOR DINNER FOR GAME FOURTEEN?????

"They got the touchdown in the third quarter, but other than that I don’t think they really did much against us in the second half." -- Rams DE Grant Wistrom
