When I asked a couple if they were parents of a player, the smile on Mrs. King's face said it all!! I cannot begin to tell you how nice Lamar King's parents are! I've been fortunate enough to meet family members of other players on occasion as well, and each one has been warm and friendly and eager to talk about their son/brother, but I don't think any have made it as comfortable as Mr. and Mrs. King! I regret that I don't have a better photograph of them to share with you because I'd give them star billing on my page if I could! They are wonderful people and I'm so happy for them that their son has realized his dream of playing in the National Football League! Mr. and Mrs. King wandered in and out of the hotel lobby throughout the morning, always offering a smile! I loved seeing the pride they have in their son! Mr. King shared the story of how he was a coach for Lamar when he was young, and when asked if he played football too, he said he'd only played sand football. Whatever he did, he obviously did well to help Lamar get this far! When Lamar came to the lobby area, he was greeted with hugs and smiles from his parents! It was very warm and so nice to see! I was absolutely floored when they brought Lamar over to meet us!! They asked him to autograph Pat's football and then Lamar allowed me to have a photo taken with him!! WA HOOOO!!! I thought it was the coolest thing when Lamar picked up a young Seahawk fan for a picture too! It was SO cool!! He is the nicest man from the nicest family!!! I wish him tons of success in his NFL career, and I hope his parents are there to see every proud moment! More? Is there more to the story? Sure! (Click on the arrow for more of the story!)
