I don’t even like seeing the Steelers in their locker room. Bleah, bleah. Ward, Polamalu, Hampton are all out for the Steelers. Despite that they’re still picked to win. I don’t know if we can win this game but I want to win SO badly! Like many Seahawks fans, I’m still not over the bitter loss of Super Bowl 40.

Steelers to kick off to the Seahawks. We’ll take the ball at the 20.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks from the 20 – Pass to Alexander – Hass had all day with no place to go.
2nd and 8 – Hass to Branch for a nice gain.
3rd and 3 – Hass to Weaver for a 1st down. They say it’s a gain of 5.
1st and 10 – Long pass to Mo Morris. Mo was open but Hass threw it too long. Incomplete.
2nd and 10 – Shaun to run for about 6 yards.
3rd and 4 – Boy, Shaun has big hands, doesn’t he? Hass to throw. Has time but it’s a bad pass, too short to Burleson. Hmmmm.
4th and 4 – Plack had an ugly punt. Gotta put that series on Hasselbeck – he wasn’t really on target with his passes.

1st and 10 for the Steelers at the 32. Big Ben to throw. First down. 13 yards.
1st and 10 – Steelers to run for a short gain.
2nd and 8 – Steelers to run again and we nailed the RB. GOOD DEFENSE! Peterson did awesome. Loss of 4.
3rd and 12 – Big Ben has all day, throws short of the first down, nice defense by Hill. Steelers to punt.
4th and 12 – Ohhh, we almost blocked that punt!! Burleson calls for a fair catch in heavy traffic. That was scary but he had good hands.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks at the 19 – Alexander to run slowly to a huge line in the middle. Oh my gosh, they are holding a makeshift shade screen over the players on the bench! Too weird!
2nd and 9 - Hass has all day to throw; throws it out of bounds.
3rd and 9 – Hass to Engram for a first down. He took a HUGE hit after the catch. Ouch!
1st and 10 – Shaun to run for a nice gain.
2nd and 7 – Ohhhh, near interception. Oh, that was scary!
3rd and 7 – Hass goes way long to Engram as time on the clock expired. That one was thrown into traffic as well. Incomplete.
4th and 7 – Another interesting punt by Plack. I think we’re all a little rattled. Eeks.

1st and 10 for the Steelers from the 32 – Big Ben to throw, incomplete. That looked ugly; was the ball tipped?
2nd and 10 – Parker to run, nice tackle after his 6 yard run.
3rd and 4 – It is really hot in Pittsburgh today – 85 degrees I think they said. Jones Soda will be able to bottle a lot more sweat for their Seahawks sodas! ? Big Ben to throw and it’s almost intercepted by Trufant.
4th and 4 – Burleson fielded the punt and ran to the 23.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks from the 23. Burleson to catch in the backfield and run for 8 yards. That was nice! I do like the play calling so far in this game.
2nd and 2 – Shaun to run for the first down. Slow running but he got the first down.
1st and 10 – Shaun to run into a pile of very big men. Ugly.
2nd and 10 – Pass wide to Weaver after no one else was open.
3rd and 10 – Whistles but we wouldn’t know what happened because they weren’t showing us the game. Grrr. They say it’s a false start on Locklear.
3rd and 15 – Hass scrambles and there is no place to throw. He throws it away.
4th and 15 – We finally got a good punt and a great tackle. Flags. Illegal block in the back on the Steelers. Half the distance to the goal. COOL!!!

1st and 10 for the Steelers from inside the 10 yard line. Parker to run for a very short gain. Tatupu got the tackle.
2nd and 8 – Parker to try to run again and he got nothing. Nice defense!
3rd and 8 – I thought we were going to get a sack but Ben stepped out of it. Incomplete.
4th and 8 – Nice punt. Burleson fielded the punt and ran backwards just a bit before turning it up field and getting a nice run back. We’ll start in good field position. GO HAWKS!

1st and 10 for the Seahawks from mid-field. Quick slant pass to Branch for a completion. Nice.
2nd and 3 – Shaun to run for a couple of yards. The Steelers help him to his feet after the tackle.
3rd and 1 – Weaver to run down the middle for the first down.
1st and 10 – False start on Branch.
1st and 15 – Oh no! Mack Strong is out with a stinger! NO NO NO NO NO! LONG pass to Obomanu in the end zone, nearly intercepted.
2nd and 15 – Shaun to run for 2.
3rd and 13 – Hass slipped and Farrior got the sack. Rats, rats. What’s with all the chunks on the field? Dirt clods are flying.
4th and 13 – Obomanu made a terrific special teams play to down the ball near the goal line. Awesome athleticism and concentration!

1st and 10 for the Steelers from the goal line. The Steelers run for a short gain.
2nd and 6 – We recently put an addition on the house and this is the first week that I’ve been home to watch a game in the new theater. It’s very nice … but a long longer to the bathroom! 30 steps to get there! ? Pass for a short gain.
3rd and 3 from the 7 – Ben passes to Willie Reid, Jennings misses the tackle and the Steelers have life in this drive. BUMMER. They gained 25 yards. Babs brought him down.
1st and 10 – Ben to throw just shy of the first down.
2nd and 2 – Parker to run and I think he’s short of the first down. We’ll see what they say. Ut-oh. Branch is on a cart that is going to the locker room. Oh no, this is tragic. Meanwhile they measure for the first down and it’s short.
3rd and inches – Big Ben pushed forward. I wouldn’t call it a first down but the referees did.
1st and 10 – SACK!!! Wooooo Seahawks!!! Peterson to celebrate and the Steelers boo.
2nd and 19 – Incomplete pass and Ben took quite a hit as the pass was leaving his hands.
3rd and 19 – Boy, the turf looks awful. Ben has all day. Now pressured, throws, we miss a tackle and finally he’s brought down. There is discontentment in the stands from Steeler fans. I love it.
4th and long – Burleson fields the punt and is tackled immediately. Glad he was able to hang on to it.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks – Hass throws to Obomanu. Safe throw, nice gain.
2nd and 2 – Shaun ran patiently waiting for blocks but they never came. Loss of 3. Ouch.
3rd and 5 – Hass threw too high for Seneca Wallace. I suspect Hass is still a little wired.
4th and 5 – Decent punt; nice punt coverage.

1st and 10 for the Steelers – Fake throw and a hand off to Parker – that was … interesting. I can’t stand the Steelers. GO HAWKS!
2nd and 6 – Not sure what that plan was about either but Parker juggled the ball and the play broke down.
3rd and 7 – Blitz, pass, completion, and they call it a first down. Nice defense.
1st and 10 – Blitz, got him that time! Tatupu got him! Darby, too! NICE!!!! Loss of 8.
2nd and 18 – Davenport to run and we can’t make the tackles. We missed a half dozen of them. Yowsers. 45 yards on the run.
1st and 10 from the 20 – Steelers to run and we make a nice tackle.
2nd and 7 – Pass to Davis and we’re all over that tackle.
3rd and 3 – For all the hype of the mighty Steelers, there are an awful lot of empty seats in the stadium. Maybe fans have left for half-time but that hardly seems right when their team is in the red zone. Wishy washy Steeler fans???? Hee hee!!! We’re at the 2 minute warning. Wide open Steeler. Miller for the TD on a pass. We gave that one to them. Boo Hiss.

Steelers 7 - Seahawks 0

Steelers to kick off. Obomanu takes it in the end zone and … slips before he gets to the 20. Hmmmm.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks – Short pass to Alexander. That was dumb.
2nd and 7 – 1:26 left; Hass to throw. Has all day. Goes short to Alexander. That was dumb.
3rd and 4 – 1:10 left. We’re letting the clock wind down because we don’t believe in ourselves. How stupid is that? I do not like Holmgren’s clock management. Obomanu got a 30 yard reception and … we let the clock run down. Duh!
1st and 10 – from the 47. Sack.
2nd and long and we’re letting the clock go. Pass to Pollard down the middle of the field. Flag. :12 left. Roughing the passer.
1st and 10 - :12 left. We really blew the clock management. Duh. Threw over the head of Obomanu in the end zone.
2nd and 10 - :07 left. Interception in the end zone. Bad pass by Hasselbeck. He threw it short. Time runs out in the half. GOOD GRIEF.

We kick off to the Steelers; it goes into the end zone and they sit on it.

1st and 10 for the Steelers from the 20 – Parker to run, we miss tackles, good gain.
2nd and 2 – Parker to run again for a first down and more.
1st and 10 – Pass; first down to Washington and out of bounds. They’re making it look easy.
1st and 10 – X-rays for Branch were negative; he’s got a sprained ankle. Parker runs for miles. Flags. Holding Pittsburgh. Whew.
1st and 10 – Steeler fans are booing over the penalty. It had been a 33 yard run. Steelers to run Davenport right up the middle for 2 yards.
2nd and 8 – Parker to run for a loss of 2.
3rd and 10 – Sheesh, the stands are about empty. Pittsburgh to pass. Pumps, fake, run, goes short to Davenport, penalty flag, we miss tackles. Holding offense. 26 yard play negated.
3rd and 13 – 81 degrees and 59% humidity. I love my living room! Ben to pass. Low snap. Blitz. Receiver is wide open. Good grief.
1st and 10 – Flags. Incomplete pass to Wilson, good defensive coverage. Holding on the Steelers.
1st and 20 – Parker to run for a short gain.
2nd and 18 – Blitz. Ben gets out of it and throws a completion. HOW did he do that?! I didn’t think Ben was that good of an athlete but I guess I have to give him his dues.
3rd and 7 – Time-out Steelers. Pass to a wide open Miller who gets a first down and 13 yards. Grrrrrrr.
1st and 10 – Pitt to run. Kerney gets him.
2nd and 7 – SACK!!! Finally! He spun out of it once or maybe even twice. Wyms got him for a loss of 10. (Wyms? Who?!)
3rd and 17 – First down. Nice pass to Wilson.
1st and 10 from the 20. Parker to run and nearly gets a TD. Oh, they call it a TD. Hmmmm. I want to see that again. No no no no, that’s not a touchdown. Good grief. The play is being challenged. GOOD! It’s overturned! Good call.
1st and goal – Davenport tries to go over the top and Peterson meets him mid-air. No touchdown on this play!
2nd and goal – That time he’s in. At least we made them work for it.

Steelers 14 - Seahawks 0

Steelers kick off to the Seahawks. Obomanu to run it out from the end zone and he made it out to the 20.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks from the 22. Flags. False start.
1st and 15 – Shaun to run. Short gain.
2nd and 14 – Pass to Engram for a nice gain. Whoa. Shaun got a compliment on blocking.
3rd and 3 – Pass to Obomanu, in and out of his hands. Oh dear. Give that one to the defense. Obomanu’s jersey is covered with turf stains.
4th and 3 – Plack to punt. Nice punt, bobbled and it goes out of bounds. Flags. Illegal block in the back on - hey, it’s not on us. It’s on them. Oh, they corrected it. Whew.

1st and 10 for the Steelers from the 15 - Parker to run a long ways for 2 yards.
2nd and 8 – Miller to run for a first down.
1st and 10 – Parker to run for next to nothing.
2nd and 8 - Parker to run; we blitz; they get the first down. Again.
1st and 10 – Davenport to run right down the middle for next to nothing.

---------------- 3rd quarter ----------------------

2nd and 9 – Pass to Wilson. The Steelers can do no wrong at this point it seems. The seats in the stadium are still empty though.
1st and 10 – Parker to run, nice hit by Russell.
2nd and 2 – Pass to Davenport, missed tackle, but gain by Pittsburgh. This is getting ugly. (Maybe this was
3rd and 2; that’s what television says. Did I miss a play? Maybe. I blame depression!)
1st and 10 – Parker to run all over us. OK, in the defense of those who do not like Shaun, I have to say that Shaun doesn’t run with the emotion that Parker just ran with. I can’t stand Aikman and Buck, for the record. They’re so boring. I wish they’d get excited every so often.
2nd and 1 – Parker to run for a first down.
1st and 10 – Parker to run; good defense. Our defensive players must be SO tired…
2nd and goal – Easy TD for the Steelers. Oh, that is so sad. Holmgren is red-faced. Sunburned, no doubt, but peeved as well. Hass needs to find his groove when we get the ball back. We have GOT to get our defense off the field.

Pittsburgh 21 - Seattle 0

The Steelers kick off to us. Obomanu has nice blockers and then turns on the speed. Nice return.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks from the 35 - Hass threw the ball to Shaun before Shaun ever even turned around.
2nd and 10 – Hass throws it away.
3rd and 10 – Incomplete pass. Throw into heavy traffic. Burleson didn’t come up with it and it fell incomplete.
4th and 10 – Nice punt; good fielding by the Steelers, the ball is fumbled and the Steelers come up with it.

1st and 10 for the Steelers. I quit the play by play. This is too depressing. Our defense has to be dog tired. Our offense can’t get anything going. The announcers are pitifully boring. Hey, guess what? The Steelers had to punt.

And then we went 3 and out with Wallace at the helm.

And then they had to punt to us and Burleson got nailed.

Hey, we got a first down. Seneca had to run for it but hey, it was a first down!
