No more of this pre-season form. It’s time to get serious! I’ve got dinner ready to put on the stove at half time of our game, so all I’ve got to do is sit here and wait for DirecTV to put our game on. Are they ever going to show it?!? I mean, COME ON!!! It’s time for FOOTBALL!!!!

While we wait (and watch that obnoxious cheesy burrito commercial from Taco Bell) I will whoop and holler because the Rams were beaten today by the Panthers! I’m not a fan of the Panthers (and I really hate those light blue polos the coaching staff wore today!) but today I loved ‘em!

Tampa Bay is coming off their worst season in 15 years??? Is that what I just heard?

Ohhh, look at all the jerseys in the crowd!!! You didn’t use to see that in the Kingdome! People came in street clothes, but today at Qwest they’re in jerseys! I love it!!!! There goes the #12 flag, but they’re not telling us who hoisted it.

Josh to kick off. #80 is back to receive for the Bucs. We could have covered it a little better. The Bucs start around the 30 yard line.

1st and 10 for the Bucs – The crowd is roaring! A pass to Galloway – oh, that hurts. He’s shy of the first down but just barely.
2nd and 1 – The crowd is still loud! Pass is batted down by TAPP!! The hype for Tapp was justified on that play!
3rd and 1 – The players ask for fan noise, the fans respond. Williams to run for it and gets through.
1st and 10 for the Bucs – From the 44, Garcia throws. Short, caught, dropped, recovered by Peterson and the crowd ROARS!!!!!

1st and 10 for the Seahawks after the Buc's fumble. Matt to hand off to Shaun who stutters and falls. That was a boring first play.
2nd and 9 – Hass to throw, goes too long to Strong and the ball falls incomplete.
3rd and 9 – Time-out Seahawks. All kinds of crazy things were happening on offense and defense. I think Hass was going to change the play but the defense started moving all around and it looked pretty ugly. I think Hass was wise to call a timeout even though it probably made Holmgren mad.
3rd and 9 from the 50 – Hass to throw. Has time. Ball is tipped by the Bucs and it falls incomplete. We’re lucky that one wasn’t intercepted. That was not a very pretty first possession. I hope we can pin the Bucs deep.
4th and 9 – Plack to kick, mediocre coverage at best when it looked like we might have a chance to nail them.

The Bud Light commercial at the opera is GREAT!! Love it!!!

1st and 10 – Ohhhh, look at the City! It’s gorgeous!!! Boo hiss. The Packers won. Not that I’m a Philly fan. Meanwhile back at the game, the Bucs start at the 25 with a running play. Short gain.
2nd and 9 – Tatupu calls for crowd noise. The crowd responds. Long pass to Galloway and it’s caught. Jennings had good coverage but it was a spectacular play by Galloway.
1st and 10 for the Bucs from the 25 – Williams to run for a short gain. Cadillac Williams? Not a good name, just my opinion!
2nd and 8 – Garcia has time. Throws into the backfield to Williams for a nice gain.
3rd and 2 inside the red zone – WHAT is Gruden wearing today? BARF!!! ? Garcia has all day. And he’s finally tackled! Flags. TAPP on the sack. What’s the flag? We wait, we wait. What’s the call? They didn’t tell us what the flag is. Was there a flag or not? Field goal attempt and it’s good.

Tampa Bay 3 - Seahawks 0

Bucs to kickoff to the Hawks. Fielded at the 10 and he ran backwards. Wilson, Wilson! NO!!!!! Hmmmm, our special teams is not very special yet.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks at the 16. Shaun to run, goes wide and makes a 3 yard gain.
2nd and 7 – Hass to throw. Pass to Engram who almost loses his head in the tackle but hangs on! Ohhh, I like Bobby Engram! He’s awesome!. Love that guy!
1st and 10 – Didn’t get to see the play because they were still showing Engram’s reception. Alexander ran for … 2.
2nd and 8 – We’ve got a lot of moving happening. Hass slips but throws on the run to Hackett. Not a first down but close. Nice recovery for Hass after slipping.
3rd and 1 – Alexander to twist and turn and probably fall short. Didn’t look like much effort to me but they’re going to measure it. I say he’s short but I hope not. If the yellow line is an indication he’s short. They say he’s a couple of inches short. I say go for it. What are we doing? We’re punting. OK, fair enough. I think Alexander could have put more effort into that one.
4th and inches – Plack to kick to Galloway. Nice kick. Galloway backs up to catch it, then runs to the outside and gets a LOT of yardage. Flags on the 47 yard run. The flag is on the 20. It’s against Tampa Bay for holding. We dodged a bullet.

Wow, there’s another shot of the city. It is SO beautiful!!

1st and 10 for the Bucs at the 10! COOL! Come on Hawks!!! Williams to run, busts through a couple of tackles for a 5 yard gain. We couldn’t get him down.
2nd and 5 – That was some sort of weird pass; not really sure what you’d call that play to Galloway but it didn’t get many yards.
3rd and 4 – HOLD ‘EM, SEAHAWKS!!! We’ve got them where we want them. Garcia to pass to a wide open Ike Hilliard who gets a good gain after the run. The crowd is silent. 28 yards on that play when we had them deep! At least Tatupu got a hit on Garcia.
1st and 10 – Garcia to throw to another wide open receiver. Peterson had to come running from behind to make the tackle on the player who had hit the turf to catch the ball. Good grief.
1st and 10 from the 40 – End around and a NICE tackle by Deon Grant. Gruden’s shirt is still ugly.
2nd and 10 – From the shotgun, Garcia hands off to Williams and Tatupu nails him.
3rd and 7 – Garcia in the shotgun again. Garcia goes long to Garcia and it’s awesome defense! Flag is down. Ahhh, rushing the passer by Leroy Hill. WHAT??? Trufant had GREAT coverage!!! I can’t believe the penalty on Hill. They didn’t show the replay. Oh wait. Here is is. Hmmm.
1st and 10 – Bucs to run. Jigs, jags, and finally is brought down.
2nd and 4 – Williams to run and Darby says NO! Nice defense.
3rd and 3 – Bucs are in the red zone. Crowd is screaming. Garcia to pass. Scrambles. Throws out of bounds rather than take a sack. Nice defense. Kearney was hot on his tail! NICE!!! Another bit of hype proves to be solid!
4th and 3 – 32 yard field goal attempt. It’s good.

Tampa Bay 6 - Seattle 0

Blitz has a huge floppy tail this year. Did he have that last year?!

Burleson!! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!? The kickoff went deep into the end zone! You didn’t sit on it, you tried to run it out!!! And you didn’t make it to the 20, not even CLOSE! WHAT were you thinking?!?!?

I’m thinking we should have played our starters more in pre-season. They’re looking like pre-season form. We’ll get the ball back after the commercials, and we’ll be starting deep. We’ve got our work cut out for us and it’s our own fault!!!!

1st and 10 for the Seahawks from the 14 – Hass to throw low to Pollard (who?!) for a first down! NICE!!!
1st and 10 from the 25 – Hass to hand off to Shaun who runs for a short gain. I’m a believer of pound it, pound it, pound it, pound it but he doesn’t look hot yet.

Hackett has an ankle sprain. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2nd and 7 – Pass to Burleson for a short gain. That was a play I don’t recall seeing before.
3rd and 4 – Hass to run!!! FIRST DOWN!!!! GOOD JOB Hasselbeck!!!
1st and 10 – Hass has time. Throws to Pollard again for a 9 yard gain. Love the green on the gloves the receivers are wearing.
2nd and 1 – Shaun finds a HUGE hole!! He looked surprised that the hole developed! 16 yards for Shaun on his first really good run of the day!!! Good balance!!! Yay for Shaun!!!
1st and 10 – Hass hands off to Shaun again who runs sideways and gets 3 yards. It wasn’t very pretty. The official helped Shaun to his feet. Interesting.
2nd and 7 – Flea flicker but the Bucs were all over it. Hass handed off to Shaun who threw it back to Hass. I don’t care if it failed, I LOVE IT!!! Trick plays!! YES!!!!!
3rd and 18 – Mack Strong to run for a 10 yard gain. That’s not the play I’d have called. The fans boo’d that play call. Stop it, Seahawks fans!!! Holmgren is calling some shake-it-up plays. He’s not predictable. I LIKE IT!!!! It may not always work but it will make other teams think twice about all the plays in our playbook!!! I just hope that he doesn’t give up on those plays since they were unsuccessful this time around.
4th and 10 – Plack to kick. NICE kick and good downage at the 8 yard line. (Is downage a word?) Nice job Hawks!

1st and 10 for the Bucs at the 8 yard line. Garcia to Williams to the 12 yard line.
2nd and 6 – First down on the pass but Tatupu hit him hard after the catch. Ouch!
1st and 10 – Garcia has time. Scrambles, throws waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay long. I think someone ran the wrong route.
2nd and 10 – Gruden’s shirt didn’t get any more attractive in the
2nd half. Garcia hands off to Pittman. We smelled that one.
3rd and 8 – The announcers are stating the obvious but we really have to listen. We must hold them here. They’re at the 25 yard line,

4th and 1 – Bucs to punt. Low snap, good punt. Burleson to field it. Spins, run backwards, good grief. I wonder where they’ll spot it. Nice defense, Hawks. You did a good job making them punt.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks from the 20 – Shaun to run, gets room, runs to the left and goes out of bounds after knocking down a lot of support staff!
2nd and 4 – Pass to Mack Strong, love that guy! First down!
1st and 10 – Mo to run for a short gain.
2nd and 7 – Hass to throw. Has time. Throws wide to Mack Strong again! The old guy gets it done!!! LOVE Mack Strong. Wonder if the Seattle fans are still holding a grudge against him for his political views?!?!

2nd and 7 – Shotgun, pressure coming, Hass gets it off to Shaun but he bobbles it under pressure and can’t hang on!

2nd and goal – MUST have a touchdown! GO HAWKS! Thrown to Branch in the end zone but he was in heavy coverage and the pass was a little high. Nice throw by Hass not to throw an interception on that play.
3rd and goal – Shaun to run. He should have just poured it on straight forward instead of running to the side. Well, that’s what I think anyway…! Time out Tampa Bay.
4th and goal – Field goal attempt. 28 yards. It’s good.

Tampa Bay 6 - Seahawks 3

Josh to kick off to the Bucs. The Bucs drop the ball and it gives us time to provide coverage! NICE!!!!! The Bucs will start at the 16 yard line. The Seahawks want noise.

1st and 10 for the Bucs from the 16. Flags. Sack by Peterson. Holding on the offense, penalty declined. We’ll take the sack, thank you very much!
2nd and 14 from the 10. Garcia pressured. Passes to Pittman.

We’re at the 2 minute warning.

3rd and 8 – Flag. False start on the offense. The crowd is screaming! Gruden is cute even if he’s in an ugly shirt!
3rd and 13 from the 13 – Garcia passes to avoid a sack and it’s incomplete. Almost picked. Ut-oh. Flag. Personal Foul chop block on the offense. Ah, too bad we have to decline it!
4th and 13 – NICE punt. Burleson has some running room. He’s across the 50 and then some!!! No flags! NICE RUN!!! OK, he redeemed himself from taking that kick out of the end zone!!! 56 yards on the return!!! Burleson was directing traffic and tiptoeing on the sidelines!!!! NICE RUNNING!!!!

1st and 10 at the 15. Hass to throw. Goes to Pollard for a nice 8 yard gain.
2nd and 2 – ALEXANDER TOUCHDOWN!!! He started to run right and then went back the other way to the hole!!! TOUCHDOWN!!! Sweeeeeeeeeeeet!

Hold that thought. Booth review. It was close but I think Shaun got the TD. Yep, on replay looks like a touchdown to me. It’s definitely not by a mile. Man, I really don’t like Gruden’s shirt. That’s such a bad color, and I don’t like the fabric it’s made of either!!! I don’t mean to be grouchy about his shirt but it’s bad! Really! Holmgren’s is boring but at least it’s acceptable.

Oohhhhhh, they overturned the TD!!! BAD CALL! I can’t believe that!!!! NO NO NO NO NO! Bad call!!! The shin is down? That counts? BOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st and goal from the 1 yard line. Alexander scrambles until he gets in!!!! TOUCHDOWN SEAHAWKS!!!!!! That took effort because there was a huge dogpile.

Seahawks 10 - Tampa Bay 6

Nice kick-off. :45 left in the half.

1st and 10 for the Bucs from the 21. One timeout left. Williams to run for 8-9 yards.
2nd and 1 - :29 left in the half. It’s a run for the first down. They’re wasting a whole lot of time.
1st and 10 - :17 left in the half. It’s a running play by Williams. Oh my gosh, that was an incredible play. He ran and ran with a dozen or more Seahawks hanging on him. I was afraid there for a minute that he’d break free and squirt down the field. Yowsers! Nice power running. No matter what happens in this game there’s got to be some respect for the power that guy has!!!

HALF TIME

The Bucs kick off to the Seahawks. Burleson and Wilson back deep to return the kick. Shadows play across the field. Short kick fielded by Burleson who runs just past the 20.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks from the 22 – Hass to throw. Throws short to Mack Strong. Wonder if Branch is wondering where all his passes are?
2nd and 4 – Hass to pass. Has time. Throws a bullet to Pollard. He’s going to be our top receiver. (Steven Alexander in the stats?????)
1st and 10 – Shaun to run. Starts one way and then goes another. Waits to be picked up by another player after the run.
2nd and 6 – Hass to throw a slant. Incomplete to Branch.
3rd and 6 – Pass attempt to Burleson. Crowd wants a pass interference call and I do too!!! There’s no flag though. Timing was tight. Fans are booing.
4th and 6 – Nice punt. Good coverage. The SeaGals are in pants now, but Gruden’s in the same old ugly shirt!

The stringy cheese burrito from Taco Bell really does look good but the commercial is so offensive there’s no way I’ll try it!

3rd and 3 – SACK. Bummer. Coverage just broke down, there was no place to go. That’s OK. Sometimes you’ve gotta take a sack.
4th and 3 – Plack to boot one deep. Nice return by Hilliard but there are flags all over the place. Illegal block in the back. Half the distance to the goal. We’ve got them pinned. YAY Seahawks!!!!

1st and 10 for the Bucs from the 7 yard line. Big time shadows across the field now. Williams to run. Short gain. Tatupu on the tackle. Williams is down … hurt? He’s not getting up. He was gang tackled so I’m not surprised he’s hurting. He’s not getting up though. Oh, the back of Gruden’s shirt is as ugly as his front. The NFL designer should be fired for that disaster. Williams is off the field, walking on the sidelines.
2nd and 6 – Garcia under pressure, sacked? Kearney got him and look at his muscles! Oh my! He’s buff!!! Kearney did an Elaine Benis move on Garcia. The “get out” shove!
3rd and 10 – Garcia in trouble. Scrambles, throws incomplete. Williams is walking to the locker room. He’s walking slowly. He hurts.
4th and 10 – Bidwell to kick to Burleson. Catches it at the 50 and loses a few yards.

1st and 10 – Pass to Burleson. NICE catch and run through trouble after the catch. Unfortunately it was punched out and Tampa Bay recovered. Wah.

1st and 10 for the Bucs from the 32 yard line. The crowd is loud. Pittman to run into a Seahawks blue wall.
2nd and 8 – Garcia to pass short to Smith just shy of the first down. Hill to make the tackle.
3rd and 2 – Come on fans. GET LOUD. Time out Tampa Bay. Maybe Gruden just realized how ugly his shirt is and needs to change! ? Garcia to pass. Play action. Garcia is in trouble. Scrambles, takes a hit, but probably got the first down. I’d have given it to him on effort alone. He’s tough.

Ut-oh. Garcia is shaken up. He’s woozy. That was quite a hit. McCown is warming up on the sidelines. The Bucs are probably OK on the QB front because they are quarterback piggies, carrying 4 on their roster. Sims isn’t suited up however. Garcia appears to be walking off the field just fine. McCown comes into the game.

1st and 10 for the Bucs at the 43 yard line – Crowd is loud. Branch has the best chance at catching that pass. Bummer, an INT would have been nice.
2nd and 10 – The shiny helmets of the Bucs are nice. Hand off to Graham. The Seahawks were all over that one.
3rd and 9 – Garcia is heading into the end zone. He’s running in though so … ?? Pass to Hilliard and it appears to be a first down Seahawks say no. It appeared to me that he got the first down. Measurement. He got it by inches, which is as good as a mile. OK, maybe not.
1st and 10 – Oh, they called us a “terribly hostile” territory! Double reverse to Galloway who never ran that well when he wore the Seahawks uniform. Oh, never mind. For all that running he only got 2 yards! I won’t complain about that!
2nd and 9 – Pittman to run. He started out full of speed but the Seahawks closed in on him quickly. Nice defense.
3rd and 7 – SACK!!! Peterson just kept after him until he nailed him!!!! Big celebration but come on, he’s the backup QB! Oh, and he lost the ball! That was close to a turnover!
4th and 13. What happened? Something went dreadfully wrong and Seattle got the ball in great field position. What in the world happened? Everyone looks confused. Bidwell thought he heard a whistle??? What happened? No expression on Holmgren’s face. Ohhhh, the whistle came from the fans. They’re going to replay it. I say find the fan and throw them out. I don’t care if it’s a long time season ticket holder. Get rid of them. NO EXCUSE for that.
4th and 13 – Touchback.

1st and 10 – Shaun to run. Facemask. 5 yard penalty.
1st and 5 – Shaun to run again.
1st and 10 – Pass to Shaun who breaks a tackle and runs for a first down. He took a bad hit and fall on the sidelines. Ouch.
1st and 10 – Shaun to run. Slips after he found a hole. Nice run anyway.
2nd and 3 – Shaun to run, has room. Runs and runs. LOVE IT!!! He’s finding his groove. Oh, wait. He called for relief. He wants a break I guess! ?
1st and 10 – Pass to Pollard. I LIKE HIM! I don’t know much about him but he’s sure introduced himself to us today!

3rd and 1 – Shaun runs and fumbles. He recovered it but I’m not sure how! He never had the ball solidly from the handoff.

No report on Garcia yet, Williams is out with a rib injury. Their cornerback has a groin injury.

1st and 10 for the Bucs – Graham to run and he beats a blocker and almost got a first down. Yikes.
2nd and 2 – Running play and we had that one sniffed out. Darby got the tackle.
3rd and 2 – Time out Tampa Bay. McCown to pass. No open receiver. He decides to scramble and is tackled short of the first down. Sack? Not sure. Rocky Bernard got the job done.
4th and 2. Punt to Burleson. I don’t like the way he’s holding that ball out! PROTECT IT!! He runs out of bounds.

1st and 10 for the Seahawks at the 30 – Hass to throw. Steps up, scrambles, not much there.
2nd and 9 – Mo to run, looks like nothing but he’s power running and gets the first down!! That was some good running. Good for him. GOOD FOR HIM!
1st and 10 – Hass to throw. Screen to Alexander. It shuts down fast. Shawn took a hit to the ankles out of bounds. Ouch again. No gain.
2nd and 10 – NICE pass down the middle of the field to Burleson who makes a BEAUTIFUL 22 yard catch in double coverage!!! Nice, so nice!! Burleson celebrates and he deserves the celebration!

It wasn’t very pretty but it worked!!!! 34 yards for a touchdown!!!! WOW, that was awesome!!! I LOVE IT!!!!! I LOVE IT I LOVE IT! Josh gets the x-point!

Maurice Morris as a wide receiver!!!! Who’d have thunk it??!?! Branch must be really disappointed. Or is he hurt? MO as a wide receiver?!?!? Going long? That’s pulling a rabbit out of the hat! I love this year’s Seahawks!!!!!!
