In need of green Sea Gals
Dear Norm,
We really enjoy your Seahawk Report and feel like the team is close to playoff contention—maybe not the Super Bowl because of the quality of teams in our division—but the Seahawks jelled last year and should really go this year.
Your last issue featured the Sea Gals, which prompted this letter. It is true their new uniforms are the best they have ever had but where is the green? We live in the Evergreen State, Seattle is the Emerald City, and Seahawk colors are blue, green and silver. Several teams are blue and white so why don’t the Gals show our true colors? I don’t happen to like blue, but if blue is one of the colors it certainly should be represented in all uniforms connected to the team. As long as they intend to use the same uniforms next year, they could add green laces or stitching on the gores in the legs and definitely should have green, blue and silver pom-poms.
Will you please pass this on to the Sea Gals? Also, how about the Seawall for the front fours’ nickname?
E. Pyerson Fall City, Wash.
(Green Sea Gals sound fine to me... I also like your name for the front four. I think the defensive line will have to do better against the run this season to qualify as a “wall, “though sometimes a catchy name can provide a little inspiration or unity to an already tight group like the Seahawk defense.)
