"Christianity isn't something you can force on someone." -- Kristi Bass

Kristi Bass, first year Sea Gal, is quick to point out that her motivation stems from her beliefs as a Christian. "Christianity isn't something you can force on someone," she says. "It's a personal relationship with God."

Bass attended Calvary Fellowship Bible School, and eventually hopes to become a counselor at camp Good Times on Vashon Island — a camp that serves the interests and needs of children who have terminal cancer. "I have a desire to help," she said. "It's important to be there for the kids when they need someone."

Bass views her Sea Gal experiences as a learning opportunity. "It's a chance to develop self-confidence. I'm not afraid to make a mistake. If I do mess up I can pick myself up and push on."

Currently, Bass is employed with the NBBJ Architect Group in Seattle. She finds her position as an Accounting Secretary challenging and rewarding.
